How many ants does it have?

Anyhow, I don't mean to sound offensive, but I think its championship was more to do with its wedges than how well it was built. You could use Steel Sheets for the side protection, and I might have mounted the Tite Sheet sideways for a wider area of protection. It looks a bit narrow for me, personally.

I am going to assume this bot never faced a good Sheck Spinner or SnS, because that steep and narrow wedge would have fared poorly.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

No idea how much ants it has. Probably just enough.

The biggest offence is that I wasn't serious when building this. Wasn't inspired at all and just pasted stuff together. Is also because I normally don't like building HW bots. So I'll leave it at that aaaannndd... See when I come up with something new.

And yes Urjak, I did have a very lucky run.

Much weight wasted in random, poorly efficient side protection, although they at least look cool.

Also I agree with Urjak. It's quite good as a popup but I see 2 flaws, notably too much chassis armor, and unsufficient front protection.

It's just okay, but it had a definite advantage in its width in both of our matches, plus it had better wedges.
Anyway, I'd just widen the front armour and cut down on the middle metal hinge since that's not really benefiting it.

Better Wedge? Dude this thing got outwedged quite a lot. It's because it hooked own wedge behind other wedge or something that just did it.

And the funny thing about Altifood is that for some reason it has pretty good flipping power even against HW bots. Wouldn't think that with suck weak (for a HW) burst motors. Funny results though.

Anyway, I'll see if I ever apply the improvements. I surely will if I need a HW Popup for something, but further, I rather build LW bots and such. Just more my thing.

Well, one of my wedges had AGOD, so that's probably why. It could take out Sage's wedges, so I dunno what happened there.

But, I've tried bots with one Large JX that flipped almost as well as some bots with 4 small Jxs, very strangely.

This kinda makes me wonder. What is it that gives the flipping power to a bot, even if it uses weaker burst motors like this.

Angle, battery power, weight on the motor, where it hits the opponent. Lots of things factor into it.

BSGs have high initial speed so are good at flipping.
Better than GK since 2009.
I think SM is a pretty cool guy, eh builds unicycle-bots and doesn't afraid of anything

I see. I guess that with Altifood it's just lucky placement and such then. I have to admit. It has more flipping power then my old LW, Hard Membram3. Looks so crazy. :/

Hum no... in DSL 2.1 BSGs have power = 0 35 60, meaning no initial force.

I think it might have to do with the Smashbox 2 (aka upward) positioning. (Well half of Smashbox 2, but just that BSGs placed like that work well)

No idea. Anyways, high initial speed doesn't makes any sense in a mechanical way. When the burst fires, it has initially zero speed (obviously), then it accelerates. That first value you"re thinking of is initial FORCE at t=0, then it is replaced by the second value, which is the force of the firing burst and improves the angular speed at which the burst fires, to a maximum given by the third value.

Overall I think power = 35 35 60 is the same than power = 0 35 60, but this needs testing.

I will stop the offtopic now.

It's not too offtopic really since it came forward from the flipping capability of Altifood. And find this all rather interesting to learn.

In the meantime, I'm thinking of what the heck I should try making next.

Not sure about a VS, but a clamper sounds very interesting.
