You don't HAVE to keep them, but whatever you replace them with must be at least half decent.
Don't bother with the wheelguards. Or just add weapons angling slightly forward in place of wheelguards. So it's cooler, it protects your wheels a bit and damages the enemy. Also you will have something to ram with if you lose your spinner.
Maybe you can also put that magmotor inside directly on a multi-extender, if you angle it more.

Well the original point was to protect the wheels, now it's a rammer/HS hybrid... but it's not a problem in my books.By angling, I hope TX means putting the weapons farther from each other while keeping the same position from the multi. So your static weapons form a V-shaped rack, and protect the weapons.Rotating the DS teeth will do no good however, cause they might touch the ground and therefore deal much less damage.
