ugh more semi-irl realism

TBH the only bot I've ever seen from you that is 100% IRL is Brass Bull.

So tell me, oh great IRL judge, how could this bot not be built and work in real life ?

it could definitely work IRL, just nowhere near as effective as it is right now. You will clearly outweapon everything else in the tourney by miles before they even scratch the chassis. The piston wouldn't work IRL because the only reason it works in RA2 is because of its "physics".

You are aware that a VS or even wammer  can beat that quite easily, right ?

also pistons work IRL just like that. Newton's second law.

after all IRL you can get pistons to lift stuff, not in this game.

Would a single piston that small be able to move a 120lb robot in that direction with such force IRL? I don't think so.

Eh, it can certainly work better, but it's not too IRL for the same reason that Popups aren't IRL; A setup like that would murder bots in RA2 physics, but it wouldn't be more effective than The Crusher or Punjar.

Do you even know what DSL realism is ? It's pretty crappy by DSL realistic standards, and it can be beaten by IRL standards.

You should take off the out beater bars and spikes and turn them so the look like wheelguards, would look cooler IMO.

it's barely supposed to move, maybe 5 shots of the piston are supposed to move stuff and balance the bot

yeah because its totally fair how people can use 2 judge bursts on a HW flipper and have them flip 800kg so easily

I don't think that would be too well accepted in the IRL world but I don't care that is awesome and manly.

I love that flippermaker/lightning spike motor brace you've got there.

While I also like the brace it just doesn't fit the spirit of IRL at all. way too DSL-ish

SS/VS hybrid.

Or a FS/VS hybrid. I've lost my touch with those and need inspiration.

Inspire me, Frenchy.

I would use Trov glitch but it looks really good. How often does a bot get to the VS?

It's cool for standard DSL though right? I've been using it for a while and no ones ever said anything to me about it.

Quit being such a know-it-all. You know nothing about hydraulics or pneumatics.

If it's a servo piston, it's playing the part of a hydraulic cylinder. Let's say that this cylinder has a 1in bore and a 4in stroke by approximation. When operating at 200 PSI, it will have 157 lbs of pushing force. Easily enough to do the job.

And if it's a burst piston, it plays the part of a pnuematic ram. I'm not even going to calculate it because I work with a machine daily that has a 1in by 4in ram on it that could crush my hand if I'm not careful.

Either way, it would work.
