KOS_Flow's DSL Showcase Of Pure Fail
« on: February 14, 2014, 07:51:37 AM »

Well, a 36 hs in DSL isn't bad... accept that its not allowed... Just a test really : 24 Maces 12 Razors, NPC Fasts and 4 ants.

And now a sleek looking ultra powerful flipper: 2 Beta Motors (fully powered)

Just to clarify, i suck at DSL, but wish to become better :D

It's not that its' not allowed, it's just that it's not common. I've actually rebuilt a couple of Starcore bot's in DSL myself.  :dumb)

Anyways, for Flipping Frenzy, it's not bad I think? I'm not too much of a veteran builder. But from what I've seen, it's actually decent. What's the armor on it?

Also, don't use Taz wheels. Techno Destructo's and Hypno's offer the best grip and the best speed.

The armour is titanium 5mm for Flipping Frenzy.

Flipping Frenzy isn't too bad. I'd get some stronger skirts on there, polycarb wont last long.

Might want to lower it to Plastic 5 or Tit. 3 and use the weight for stronger skirts instead.

I like Flipping Frenzy's skin. But yeah, get some aluminium or titanium skirts on that.

Ok done that, the only reason i had polycarbonate ones was because there lighter, so the flipper will be more powerfull.

While that may be true, with two Beta bursts, you can afford to make the skirts a lot more durable than polycarbonate and still be powerful. I think my old dual-Beta burst flipper had steel skirts and could throw HWs quite some distance.

Noice bit of standard - Rocket Sledge: 2 Perm 132s with 2 DSL Hammerheads on each, 4 ants, pl1, 2 casters (are they allowed in DSL as armour?)

Rocket Sledge is very original

Eh... not hugely.

I am hugely confused by your choice of poly extenders on the back. Does it need that extra length or is it just fragile for the sake of being fragile?
Also, seems like quite a lot of weight for a perm - does it spin fast enough? I tend to largely steer clear of dual vs at HW but that's because I love the power of a dual.

the reason i used poly's was because it needed to be further back for stability.

Looks unrealistic as the bar cuts through the perm belt, but otherwise looks very nice.

Interesting but tribals are weak in DSL. Try mounting your weapons on a hexplate.
