I even read back through to check to make sure it wasn't there. :/

I would say less armor and more weapons on the drums.

Even at Plastic 1 I can only make one drum complete with DSL beater bars small!

Thanks for the suggestion though!

You could get large beaters on the drums if you try eFFeing them. Try and get metal hinge wedges if you can.

Needs more weapons on the drum, less armor and IDK about how well a drum hybrids with a wammer.

The drums spin upward at the open end of the bot so it sort of acts as a flipper

Quick guide to eFFeing.

If you move a part over an attachment point, it will jump there to attach. Before clicking to attach it, you can rotate (or fire, in the case of a burst motor) the part you are attaching too, and as long as you never move the mouse, you can still attach the item even though the attachment point has moved. The collision mesh is still with the part, so you can attach other parts where they would normally intersect.  Also, while rotating the part (the drum in this case), the beater bar is not affected if another beater bar passes through it.
Go to the test lab and back and the parts are set back to their original position.

O.o
That is an old Cataclysm there.
After hours of fiddling with it I came up with something.
The bot doesn't look that different so no point posting a pic.

I downgraded the armour to Tit 3
Added razor points to the rear DSL Bars
Changed the small beaters to medium ones
Added 2 more ants (so it lasted for more than 2 minuets)
Re-did all the hinge start and end points
Converted from NPCs to NPC Fasts
now at 798.6 Kg

You don't really want weaponry at the back, as more often than not you'll be facing your opponent head-on. Or flanking them if you get lucky.

It is more of a 'I have weight to spare but not enough for Tit 10' moment.

How much weight? Metal hinge wedges would be around 15kg or so from what you have now.

Thanks for the advise NFX.

Anyone know how to build a good crusher/Razor-type bot?

You can't. RA2 doesn't allow parts to pierce a chassis, so its impossible to have an effective crusher without cheat parts.

Oh well...
Now I know grabbers are possible, bots that hold other bots in pincer-like apparatus. So does anyone have any advise on those?

Very hard to build, because of the rule of 7 (only 7 parts per attachment point)

Anyone know how to build a good crusher/Razor-type bot?

Best I've been able to do is a trapper with sawblades on a servo piston. It's the most recent one in my showcase if you want to take a look.

Update:

Made a Hypnodisc type of spinner:

Sorry, not a good interior pic really. But it has 4 ants for max power, 2 NPCFasts, Hypno wheels, Mag moter one like tornado mer's with Tit 5, had 170kg avaibable

Updated version, same as above just used the 170kg and put a roll bar on top with some Mag Snappers with pick axe heads on top.

Oh, and more ants!

Why to control boards?

And anyway the blue control board is the best
