I just relized... There are no slap 'em silly files either! here is a pic and a .zip of my " slap 'em silly" remake.
-
Moving this thread to the showcase. FYI, everyone here has just one thread in which they post all their bots, rather than giving each bot its own thread. That's called a showcase.
(Interesting historical sidenote: I think Metal Virus was the one who started the showcase fad.)
As for the bot: that's a replica right? Needs to be a bit wider, and I'm pretty sure Slap em Silly had 4WD, but the lightning spike is perfect for this.

Thanks... Sorry for posting it in the wrong thread... Anywho, I'll make it 4wd and wider.

It's no problem, how were you to know?
-
Updated version: (no photos, sorry...) and a toejam battlebot. Just one problemo... My paint importer only works on my XP, can someone do a skin for me? (there is a paint templete in the .rar...)
-
Could we se some insides?
-
I can't do skins to save my life, sorry.
But I do recommend instead of putting the bot up for download and attaching the photos, use the image host on the main page (www.gametechmods.com (https://gametechmods.com)). You can then copy and paste the first link it gives you, and you can put images into your post like this
(https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/8098o.jpg)
Much easier than downloading them :P

Sure! Only of toejam and slap 'em silly though.... (I am working on others right now...)

Thank you for the advice, I thought that you simply clicked and they got bigger... My Bad.

My importer works now, I just needed to run as admin. :)
-
Just to help out a bit, I'll give you a bit of building advice :)
Okay, so these are replicas, so the usual 'shrink the chassis' and 'build to the weight limit' deals don't apply, but most of the other rules still apply.
Long black batteries (as seen in the 2nd bot) suck. You're better off just having an ant battery for each spin motor (this will even work with the biggest spin motor, the dual perm), but you do need full ampage for burst motors so, what I usually do, is put a few extra ants in.
Drive motor wise, Piglets aren't great - they're weapon motors, and similarly I think with slimbodys. NPC Fasts are a very popular option here.
Blue control boards weigh less than the green ones, but are slightly larger. They're generally more useful because of the weight advantage though.
-
I just remembered... it's toeCRUSHER not toeJAM, isn't it... lol?

Thanks, But I think I will keep the piglets on toecrusher, simply because I can't fit anything else in there... :P as for Slap 'em silly, I will go with the TWM3R drive motors... My importer stopped working again... So mabey someone could be a co-builder and skin it for me please?
-
Remove these ballasts you're wasting weight with them.
you do need full ampage for burst motors
About three quarters of the indicated amp drain. A Beta burst works well with 170 amps.

thanks... but without them, the bot tips over backwards. So they are kind of needed until I get to be a less "suck-a-fied" builder... ;)

No they aren't use something else than ballasts for weight balance like a few more forward placed batteries or forward armor or whatever.
BTW, if you want to be a less suck-a-fied builder you'll need to improve your weight distribution skills... this includes ditching ballasts.

Piglet Brushless motors for drive SUCK. But also, post your replicas on THIS THREAD HERE-https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,797.0.html (https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,797.0.html)
And I would LOVE to see you make some robots, not just replicas :P
-
Well... I whipped this up for BOTM, but that's when I forgot my other account's name...

That uses DSL parts. FYI, there are some people around here who
might will definitely flame you for that. Just warning you. Keep DSL and the original game seperate.
-
Well this IS the DSL showcase section, so it's fine to use those parts here.
I'm guessing he just didn't install DSL correctly.

You mean for bot of the month? I thought last month's BOTM was a quote "DSL HW"....? Well, thanks for the heads up anyway!
I'm guessing he just didn't install DSL correctly.
what makes you say that?
-
Oh. Forget what I said then. I thought this was a stock showcase because of the background.

Oh... that's why. I just have no UI because I have the download version of robot arena... I need to add it to the botlab, but it always crashes my game in the bot and team selection screen.
-
Please show the insides. It looks like it needs more weaponry. Maybe 2 70kg hammers on each bar? And use DSL Bars instead of extenders. DSL bars do damage :P
-
Sorry, I've been doing the NWEA testing. (some Colorado state test, I think...) So, My bandwidth is high, so my internet is slow... In otherwords, I cannot upload any pictures to the uploader, just click and when it pops up with the menu asking to save or open, just hit "open". Sorry guys. Here is my new bot "street sweeper from heck"... It is named that because it has aluminum skirts instead of hammers on the end of the DSL bars. It is SUPPOSED to bring the other bots up and "flick" them out of the arena. (I made it for the robot wars arena...)
-
You can reduce your file size (hence upload time), by doing the following 2 things.
1. You crop the image
2. You convert image to JPG or PNG. If you have slow internet I suggest JPG.
It also makes it easier for other people to view your image, which can increase the amount of "bot related" replies you have.
As for bot, you will probably have more success by using a stronger weapon motor. I would suggest at least a perm 132 for this.

thanks! sorry for the late reply, I was working on some in-game techno...

we do NWEA too
most borring hour in my life, OVER AND OVER
and to much emty space

The chassis is HUGE... Try to make the chassis as small as possible.
Make it so that things barely pass...
Like this:
Red= Battlepack batteries
Blue = Control Board
Grey (Big) = NPC Motors
Grey (Small) = Anchor
Another example:
Everything that can be outside, Goes outside...
Also, Use NPC Right & left... because they can go a bit outside the chassis, So you can make the chassis even smaller liek the pic i made :P
Motors outside are not always good though.
You can also change the Anchor for a Multi-extender, They can be attached to the baseplate...
Theyre those Black & Red extenders, Smaller than Anchors & Lighter i think...

INSIDES TO COME!!
my first mot in MONTHS... so don't bash it too hard...
I got the insperation for the name while listning to track 12 on "Hellbilly Deluxe" by Rob Zombie, named "Phantom Stranger"
Specs:
2 piglets for drive (I know the suck, but I couldn't fit any others in and still get the speed...)
4 ant batterys (porbably too much... Oh well)
three of the spike which names I can't remember... (my bad)
four flipper segments (two on the front and two on each side at an angle)
four spikestrips (Added armour/damage)
1mm titanium (needs perentheses)
Shiny Hub wheels
Pluses:
Looks
weapons
frontal armour
Wheel armour
Minuses:
Speed
manuverability
-
Why the heck are you using piglets for drive whn you know they suck ? Use Astros.
-
I know I should'nt post reps here, deal with it!
Hexidecimator
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbhGu7M3cP8# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbhGu7M3cP8#)
I have REASONS for the batterey overload:
1. I would like to have it close to (if not in) the HW class, as in real life.
2. I like running "to the death" matches, or running with no time limit on highly hazzard-a-fied maps.
3. I needed to fill space. :rage
EDIT: Forgot the video...
-
DO NOT Ever fill space up with batteries! Since it's a rep leave it. BTW on your Toejam rep, Toejam doesn't use a motor for his hammer, he uses Kinetic energy.
-
DO NOT Ever fill space up with batteries!
No, just no.
-
Slimbody drive should fit in.
-

lolz tell that the Pwnator =P
-
It's a replica, so he can waste weight on Titanium 10 or over 9000 ants.
-

actually 10mm Armour is probably recommended since you don't do much external construction on reps
can make for some long and boring matches though =P
-
what I meant was if you can shrink the chassis do so, don't fill it up with overkill amounts of Batteries.
-

It's a Replica, if you changed the chassis, it would not look like the bot IRL.
-
I was just telling him so he does not do that on other bots.
-

Extra batts help with bots with bursts, it keeps them at full power longer. There is nothing wrong with adding 2-3 extra ant batts.

Looks nice, but could do with flails and a smaller chassis. Also, what are the insides like? AND WHATS THE ARMOUR!?
-
Flails aren't always necessary.
-
Use drive motors for drive, dual mags are weapon motors
-

It has no armour other than the shell... XD (It was already over 920 KG...) Flails wouldn't be a bad ideo, though... :ermm:

Yeah, I figured that out for Mk IV, I just need to get some inside shots...
-
NO FLAILS PLEASE
And the music destroyed my ears... ROAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111!!!!!!!!

Tell me about it... I had to audioswap it. It used to be "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath... :realmad(
EDIT: Speaking of Black Sabbath, Wicked World. (SnS lol)
SPECS: Four antweights, four Etek drives, one chip :P, 24 70kg hammers, 1mm plastic, one SHW maker. Beats most other SHWs. (I may have a vid in a bit)
-
DP!
Well, am I less "suck-a-fied" yet? (Even if it is a sh*t and spin...)

Change the wheels to techno's and change the extenders to something else.
-
Put the weapons farther out from the wheels so they are less exposed.
-
And stop posting failbots !
-
And stop posting failbots !
It isn't a failbot, it just needs improvement.
-
I'm with FOTEPX. All failbots have potential to become winbots (like yours Nar). In this robot's case, it could use technos and more weapons. You would also benefit from longer reach on your extenders. You have potential with some more practice JS.
-
Alright, i am wrong - that is not a failbot, so i'll fix my previous post
And stop fighting replicas !
Seriously. Most are effing worthless in combat.
