It's not you. You definently need to rethink your weapon system.

So redo the weapon setup and the drive system?

I see nothing wrong with the drive.

Unless you mean those poly extenders going over the dual Perm.  Yeah, you could mount the drive closer to the chassis and get rid of the extenders... but it's not critical.

And flail sledgehammers aren't useless, are they?  They don't score ludicrous damage like flail razors, but surely they would be no worse than static hammers?

In any case, you could get by with either static hammers or flail razors easily and probably improve the bot.

For my tests, my version couldn't even take 3 razors off of the new Black Storm, let alone a single hammer from Grog. D:
Clash Cubes 1 - Grey Matter (Runner-Up)
King of Karnage - Sideshow Freak (Runner-Up, Best Engineered)
Rust In Pieces - Paper Cut 3 (Grand Champion, Most Dangerous Bot)
Wheely Tag Tournament - Ion Thruster (Grand Champion, along with Ounces' DiSemboweLment)
UK vs USA - Dark Striker (Grand Champion)
Rust In Pieces 2 - Claymore (Runner-Up, Favourite Bot)
BBEANS 6 - Infection 4 (Runner-Up)
RA2 Team Championships - Serious Business, Skeksis (Runner-Up, along with Scrappy, S_M, and Badnik)
RA2 Team Championships 2 - The Other Stig (Runner-Up, along with Scrappy, S_M, Badnik, 090901, and R1885)
Replica Wars 3 - Abaddon (Runner-Up, Luckiest Bot)
BroBots - wheebot & yaybot (Runner-Up)
Robo Zone 2 - Dipper (4th place, Survival Champion, & Best Axle Bot)
ARBBC - The Covenant (3rd place, BW Rumble Winner, Most Feared BW)

Flail sledge hammers weigh more than static ones, don't offer as good protection and also greatly increase spin-up time.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

also the damage calculation only applys more damage to piercing weapons in motion.. concussions gain nothing whatsoever in the damage output department from using flails

The shell spinner was fixed up and entered into Total Carnage.

Anyway, I built a MW pop-up... Blood Red Sandman.

change the Mags to BSGs.  they have the same power for less weight. is the chassis a cube? and you could upgrade to plastic 3 if you shrank the chassis hight and changed the angle skirts to straight ones. looks like it can do suitable damage. nice.
I... I think I've quit. Lurking and posting where I feel it's needed from time to time. I was never particularly good, but I tried. Never really succeeding, but trying all the same.

It's not quite a cube. The only way I could shorten it any further is through BFE.

Thanks for the advice on the bursts. I wasnt aware that BSGs and MAGs had the same amount of power.

In my opinion, the damage seems a bit weak for a pop-up at only 300-500 points per hit. Maybe I'm just expecting too much from it, though.

One of the lower wedges looks like it's AGOD'd.

I think I just have the hinges uneven. It hasn't posed a problem during my few test battles.

Press F12 and find out anyway. You want your wedges the be even, it prevents bots from locking together or your bot being outwedged.

If you want this to be good, make it generic!

2x NPC Fasts + Hypnos mounted on the baseplate, outhanging the chasis
2 BSGs on the far left and far right of the chasis
6 ants and a blue CB inbetween
2 Metal hinge wedges, probably 80cm titanium angled skirts
Skirt hinge + Titanium skirts for armour, 80cm in the middle, 80cm angled on either side
4 Razors on each bsg, attatched with only two extenders

Some don't like genericy (if thats a word), but it seems to be the working (and effective) MW true popup formula right now :D

Well, I checked the wedge for AGOD, and it wasn't, but now it has a slight case of AGOD after I made a few modifications. :/

Just an update on Blood Red Sandman...

Everything is the same as above, but reconfigured the wedges. Would have changed the MAGs to BSGs, but BSGs didn't have attachment points in the right spot.

My my my, look who it is. Welcome back to the building side of things HA! Bot looks cool, and I like the PA Skirt as a holder for the bots.
I built that big robot on that TV show that time
