Well the only thing is maybe get rid of one of the flipper segments and get plastic 3. Might want to hear advice from others though.

I'd recommend angling the CF extenders further away from the wheels so if you don't successfully sweep a bot for whatever reason you've got enough clearance and leverage to get spinning before your chassis becomes endangered.

(And i win with one wheel, thanx FBS.py)

Pleeease include the weight in your descriptions - very hard to give good advice without knowing your weight constraints.
Title: Re: Hercules´ showcase of DOOM
Post by: NFX on February 09, 2012, 08:13:40 AM
Nice setup, if a bit fragile, and probably will be unbalanced quite easily. I'd have the wheels perpendicular to the extenders, so that it looks more like a cross than a line, giving more stability should you be tilted. The extenders do look fragile, but I suppose if the opponent can't get to them, that's not too bad. If they are quite fragile, then I'd recommend removing the poly skirts, shortening the arms, and using a tougher material for the extenders.

As I said, get the CFS angled further away from the wheels so you have a tighter radius and more leverage for sweeping.

Only thing I can say is:

Also, carbon fiber on polycarbonate looks useless.

It's not really that original, Kurt Wylde built one a little while back.

it's pointless putting face spinners on top of a wedged rammer, cause you're not going to lift the bot with spinners that high.
Title: Re: Hercules´ showcase of DOOM
Post by: Conraaa on February 17, 2012, 03:28:40 PM
I would:
-Remove the piglets and make those discs static and use the saved weight to invest in some slightly tougher weaponry in places, beater bars w/ lds teeth or something
-Remove the outer shell segments
-Choose a thinner DSL bar for the wedge, unless that's the thinnest. And then invest the weight elsewhere.

Other than that, not bad! It gets bonus points for having WBC wheels.

Doesn't look too bad. Still have some leftover weight though.
Title: Re: Hercules´ showcase of DOOM
Post by: madman3 on February 18, 2012, 05:13:21 PM
Most of the weapons on shell panels won't even hit anything. I'd seriously just scrap them and widen the disk array at the front since disks are more durable anyway.
Title: Re: Hercules´ showcase of DOOM
Post by: ty4er on February 20, 2012, 10:48:45 AM
i would get rid of the top weapons and make it a lot wider, shrink the chassis and get the e-teks on the disk underneath and maybe swap some of the lds teeth for razors if you still have weight. and make it fully invertible aswell (or near enough)

The weapon bar needs some support on the other side. Other than that, it looks pretty cool.
Title: Re: Hercules´ showcase of DOOM
Post by: NFX on March 09, 2012, 05:09:36 PM
And the skirt hinge looks very flimsy as well. Mount it higher up, that would help, if you want to keep the wedges that badly, and get rid of the middle wedge so the bar can pass through properly. Also needs sufficient extender supports, if you take a look at some of the Last Rites style spinners people have made, such as Scrap Daddy and FOTEPX, they have otherwise pointless extenders from the chassis to the axle, but they make it look a million times better.

I think the problem with the two previous bots was that the screenshots didn't really show us much at all. A clearer shot inside the bot lab, with the internals being shown, gives us a lot more to go on when it comes to offering advice.

And don't stack your CB and batteries like that. It's unrealistic.
