Fyshcase: DSL Fumbling
« on: June 07, 2014, 08:40:32 PM »
Been lurking for a while trying to gather information on how to make a robot look good.
If you expect effective, deadly robots to be posted here then you will be disappointed.

I couldn't fit the snapper in the chassis. Much to full in there.
The self-righting mechanism includes a "That Darn Dustpan" motor bracket for looks.

Surprisingly, the Bob Flap wedge is more effective than I thought.

Not bad at all for a first bot. Looks pretty cool.

Hard for me to see what's what in the first one. Second one look decent. Third one looks cool. I like 'em :P

Anyone wanna race?

Ethanol

Experimented with out of chassis frame drive. Ended up with something Vettel would have a hard time looking at.

I'm impressed.

You take Cheatbot parts and just run with them, I don't see many people use them in such a way.

Found out about Cruiserweights. Started experimenting with Turrets.

594.3 kg

Decently gets the job done. Turret is rotatable using a low power servo.
To my surprise it was able to turn the whole thing with ease.

Should I move that to custom components showcase because it uses lots of DSL2 cheat parts ? I'm not even sure.

It's still very nice and original. Good to see a newbie come with something new.

Cheatbot2 =/= custom parts

I'm really liking Cryospin, shame you don't have enough weight to stick another disc on top of the turret so it's fully enclosed.

Heard this forum liked cambered wheels. More experimenting.

Crushing design implemented. More spikes added. Reticulated splines.

Continue doing what you are doing.

However, I will say that the weapon is passing through the motor on that one, which is frowned upon.
