Literally who calls me Phil? You cut that out, boi.

Anyway I like the two hammer rammers, and the double Beta burst is cool too, I should consider making one of them too, even though three Betas in a Middleweight is the real goal. ;) Also, is the face spinner actually DSL-S? Those weapons look like they intersect a lot more than they should.

Okay, Philly D.

Enhh, I find that you give up too much with 3 beta's. At least with 2 betas you have some weight to spend on wedges and armour.

Also, is the face spinner actually DSL-S? Those weapons look like they intersect a lot more than they should.

Well, I built these bots a few months ago, with the intention of them being DSL-S... Let's pop the trunk and have a look!

...Hm. Interesting. It appears what I've done is crossed the belts over one another, to give the impression that the axle is straight out in front rather than being on a belt. I'm guessing I did this to give the FS some oomph ('cuz the only motor with this sort of power that has the motor and axle in the same place is the E-Tek and Tornado Mer's, both of which are too big for this application), but looking at it, yeah, they are a bit close... Might rebuild this one too, then.

Still not gonna let Philippa outdo me in the DSL-S field, ain't happening, no sir

Shogunate, 797.6, Plastic 5. Rebuild of Shogun from NAR AI. Originally supposed to be a Samurai Sword popup like that bot, but the strength from the VDMA's actually makes it a pretty potent front-hinged flipper, launching bots a lot further than expected.

Figured I might as well stay on the Samurai Sword train.

Dharma II - 398.1 - Aluminium 3. Rebuild of Shogun from NAR AI. Now a Splinter clone, and surprisingly effective. Had to waste a lot of weight on batteries, though - over 50KG's of batteries, and it can only last the full 3 minutes if it's conservative with it's weapon firings.

Still, I really like the concept of Bushido. In fact, the bot's so nice, I rebuilt it twice!

Shobogenzo - 397.2 - Tite 3. Obviously an IRL bot, which means less effective, but still enough to pose a challenge if  regular DSL Bushido is your benchmark. I really like the way how the wheelguards look like the arches of a Torii if looked at from the right angle.

Skirt wedges don't fly in IRL, just so you know.

Enhh, the original DSL version had 'ems, and everything else is close enough to IRL... I could just drop 'em if they're that much of a fuss, it ain't particularly wedgy anyway.

Thoughts on Dharma, while I have your attention?

Also, thoughts on possibly rebuilding all the DSL MW's to be DSL-S standard, using NAR AI and DSL 2.1 as a base? I've already done Bushido and Iceberg, so I mean I'm already like an eighth of the way there...

Those skirts aren't IRL. If you want to have skirt wedgyness in IRL you can use my invisible polycarbonate sheet.

To be honest I'm not a fan of either, although I much prefer Dharma. As for feedback, Dharma just looks too thin for a gutripper to me, although I guess the weapon layout helps a ton with that. Also, only the centre AP of the skirt hinge is 'wedgy', so the wedge is gonna be trash when using all 3.

The skirts on sushihanzo aren't really IRL but my bigger gripe is with the wheelguards, they kinda just look tacked on like on one of lra2's IRL bots (no offense to either of you). They're like wings with how they barely interface with the chassis at all, but not in an awesome "yo that bot has wings" way. I'd look into more seamlessly integrating the wheelguards with the chassis.

Yeah, I mean, I expected to need a wider weapon setup and setup in general for Dharma to be effective, but the side swords do a good job of bringing the bots into the middle for it to do the most damage. The wedge isn't too bad on it, actually, and serves it's purpose, so that's not a fuss for me.

Nyeh. Back to the drawing board with Shobogenzo, then. See what I can do to make them more appealing.

Might as well showcase the rebuilt bots for DSL 2.3 thus far so you know what you're up against.

Starting with the most Non-IRL one, the Bear rebuild. More of a trapper than ever before, but still quite underweaponed. More of a control bot than anything.

Iceberg looks relatively the same, apart from the wedge at the front. They say they have a surprise this time around, though...

Top Dog's trimmed most of it's spare weight to become a "break your fist with my face"-type affair.

Insane Berserker's calmed down a bit and gone back to it's roots - and is now surprisingly a lot more dangerous now that it has stability.

Insanity's updated it's front armour and added wedgelets to the back and sides so it doesn't get stuck.

Samurai's pretty much stayed the same, just using 2.3-style panels.

Scout's downgraded back to one flipper, but with a large VDMA powering it, it packs more of a punch than first glance'd gather.

And BOT-205's doubled the amount of saws it has. Still can't self-right, though. Aww.
