i know its a joke bot but small chassis HS with huge weapons (especially a single bar) make them insanely unstable
the weapon just catches on the ground when hit and the chassis spins so it doesn't do damage
ALERT- Another WS coming up...
voted best bot builder two times and counting babayy. the best ra2 builder who has never won an actual tournament match

Y'know, you just got me thinking - which weapon would be most effective on a shell spinner in DSL 2.2?

I reckon flails are still the best thing ever.

flails seem to be de-weaponed more easily in 2.2. you can kill some of the old shell spinners and fsns with mw rammers, though that might have more to do with razors just being crap

Huh, didn't realise Frenzy hammers were "trending" on GTM...but yeah you may have gone a bit too far in a few places lel

Also, I imagine flails will still be good on some bot types, they're just more niche in 2.2.

Pretty crazy design I made a few hours ago.

Really proud of this one - despite AGOD, the wedge works amazingly well, and the weapon set-up is suprisingly efficient at gut-ripping other robots, in part due to a caster at the back providing a very sturdy balance. Really happy with how this one turned out.

Neat littlea design. Looks cool as well.

I'm not sure about those new DSL2.2 VS teeth that you put on the middle of the discs though. Maybe put something else so it actually has more reach/looks better ?

Thanks very much!

Alright, I'll try and find something that foots the bill.

For future reference, here's every weapon in DSL 2.2 that doesn't have normals:

Iron Spike
Razor Tip
Mace
All Hammers (including M.O.E. Hammer and Meat Tenderizer)
All Beater Bars
Sir Killalot Drill
Tornado Spike
Lightning Spike
Iron Fist

A simple, but effective Drum bot which is better than NAR AI's current offerings - this is THWOK!

Steel 3, 796.4 - you could probably upgrade to 55KG hammers if you shortened the wheelbase and downgraded to Titanium sheets, but it's not really worth it for general combat.

BTW Nary, when I say "NAR AI's current offerings", I'm on about WIIIDE LOAD from NAR AI's DSL 2.1 expansion. Don't sweat it, I'm pretty sure the newest version of Wide Load will still be a challenge.

I like your idea but the hammers feel off to me the way they are on there like thwy arent turned to have a consistent pattern

The pattern actually is consistent, with every attached hammer being 90 degrees in an X-style shape - kinda hard to see from that angle though, so you're justified. It performs perfectly well in it current pattern, but I guess it could look a bit more aesthetically pleasing.

it looks tight but does it have top/bottom protection
on my bot aneurysm i found out i needed it badly

I was gonna up the armour or add top/bottom protection, but I couldn't do that without downgrading to 45KG's, which unbalance the whole drum and look pretty stupid. I could remove 2 50KG hammers and go heavy on the armour, but I think it'd remove the combat effectiveness. I'll get back to you on that.

Just finished making Thwok!'s cousin, Thwack!

same internals, 795.5, with 45KG hammers this time, and Plastic 10. Now protected with THICC™ bottom and top protection - four 80X100 Polycarb sheets protect the top and bottom of the 'bot, for a total of 24,000HP's of protection. Can last noticeably longer in grueling fights now, despite the slight drop in DPS. Cheers, Reier!

There's been more upgrades since this one, but I don't wanna be triple-posting - it's already bad enough that I double-posted, let alone dragging this out further.

no one exactly cares about multiple posting in showcases as long as it's the owner posting bots

i much prefer the first bot. second one appears crippled weaponwise and like it can't really lift stuff efficiently but i may be wrong

Enhh, I'm just remembering the good ol' days where if you DP'ed, you'd be shunned, tarred and feathered. Ahh, well.

The second one is actually more efficient in terms of a long-term battle, and the DPS doesn't really suffer much between the hammer setups.

I've never considered Drumbots to be efficient at lifting things, and never designed the bot with that in mind, really.

So, f*** the meta-game, am I right?

Royd Rage. 798.6, 3 Reinforced Perm 80's running 6 full-size Mechavore discs. Titanium 10, NPC Fast's. Inside are two WP836E's.

Complain.

In a bizarre twist of events, a Perm 80 powering 2 full-size mechavore discs has the same spinup speed and total speed as a Perm 132 powering 3 full-size mechavore discs. Fancy that.
