Domanating's Showcase of nonsense
« on: February 08, 2012, 02:56:28 PM »
Wweeeeee, my showcase! lol

Ok so i decided to start big, really big! So big that it's actually bigger than "really big"
Here we go

-By using the largest Servo pistons available, the entire outside structure of the bot can open allowing larger bots to enter in the deadly hug as shown in pics 1 to 2.

-It has a Total of 18 saws, 12 powered by 6 Perm 80 and 4 saws powered by 4 Piglet motors including one saw protecting the back. All the left saws spin counterclockwise and all right ones spin clockwise, forcing any victim into the death zone.

-It's wheels are powered by 6 tornado Gearboxes giving it a respectful speed and turning ability even for its size and weight.

>It's weaknesses are its large size which make it hard to maneuver in a lot of arenas
>It is unable to recover from a flip
>It's 6 perm 80 motors are badly protected and can easily come off

I like it. Not sure what people will say but I think it looks cool. Change the wheels and the drive motors though cos Cobra's aren't centered and Gearboxes aren't drive motors.

overkill on the batts, you only need 1-2 ants per spin motor, unless you have any burst motors
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

haha that looks cool

you can upgrade the perm 80's to 132 and get npc's for drive motors and maybe even overkill wheels.

also a general rule is 1 ant battery for each spin motor. This will save you a lot of space and weight.
DSL Showcase
is this bot don't lost all razors in a fight before do a damage thought

That looks amazing. Reminds me of the old (and I mean REALLY old) designs by duh102 and those other prehistoric DSL builders <3

Also, Cobra wheels don't have the best grip, I would swap them out for Wheely Big Cheese wheels or Overkill wheels.

Whoa, that is unique. However, tornado mer gearboxes suck for drive, antweight sawblades are horrible, what else...

The chewblade is not doing much, and sadly it is inefficient against most other 3000kg bots. But you get props for starting very original, and quite a bit better than most newbies.

The saw protecting the back is also not worth it, if you consider how many weapons a 3000kg bot should have and how one saw is nothing compared to it.

Cobra wheels are fine, most notably by having 500 fracture. You just need to use Drive Eteks at this weightclass.

Looks badass. It's like Little Metal Friend went to a scrapyard with a magnet.

There are improvements you could make, such as swapping the 4-Mags, which aren't drive motors, for E-Tek Drives, which are. And swapping the Cobras for Overkills, that would allow your robot to move much, MUCH faster, and manouver more quickly. The Long Ramplates are a poor choice in terms of HP/weight ratio, the extender work could be improved (since the weight limit for UHW's is 5000kg, you've got more than enough weight) and you could also have the side panels angled outwards rather than inwards, so as to scoop the opponents into its arms. It's a good concept, though, I might mess around with this. Very nice idea for a first bot. =)

Holy crap! 6 posts in 9 minutes, this forum is fast!

Thanks all for so many advices! Batteries, wheels, motors, saws, plates! That's a load of advice coming just from one bot!

NFX, I use the ram plates just to cover the large extenders. It's like covering a skeleton so it won't look fragile. The front panels are inwards in order to protect the motors directly behind it.

Meanwhile I've been tweaking this bot a bit more. Now it truly looks a beast! I'll apply your advices to it and post some pics of Armageddon2

Ok, so i added armor skirts around the chassis, replaced the back plates and put iron spikes, replaced the back saw with a small ram plate, reduced the number of batteries and replaced the wheels.
I didn't change the wheel motors though. I did some tests. I used what you asked for, E-Tek motors and overkill wheels. The bot was much faster as you guys said but it only manouvered better stationary. It took a while to turn it while moving forward. I then replaced the overkills for the Cobras with E-Tek, Waaaayyyy worse: slower, horrible manouverability. So then i put the tornado gear back with the overkills and got definitely better in every ways. Maybe its how i set the controls?

Oh i almost forgot, the main change which "i think it's noticeable"  are my vertical saws powered by 4x132 Perm motors, also piston controlled to open and close.

Im guess is youre going to criticize my excessive use of ram plates, i think it looks nice on it quite frankly  :approve:

We said Etek drive motors. All gearboxes are unfitted for drive.

Just noticed that E-Tek motors section have 4 choices. I don't know how i missed that. Thanks, will change.

Since i got the game, i had many ideas for robot hugging devices. This kind of bot won't be the last
