Title: dezox´s dsl showcase of awkwardness

a simple replica of iron-awe 2.1 from  Somerset build by  Gilbert Grimm and his aides machine. it was a series of different iron awes some competed in three series and in extreme 2.

a flipper robot that are amzing on throwing things out of the arena :claping using 2 spring loaded beta motors

a disc robot i have named t710p.t710p just toss and boss its opponents around. it is frenetic, sustainable and do great harm. :beer:

Nice first bots, the first one in particular looks pretty cool. I'll quickly point out some of the things you may wish to think about
- Angle extenders, as seen on your flipper, are very very weak, maybe consider using Flipper Makers instead?
- Your flippers cut straight through the ramplate on the first one, this would be considered a violation of both DSL Standard and IRL rulesets.
- Similarly, on the second one, your hammers cut through the wheels.
- Lastly, on the second one again, you don't need that much power. In DSL 2.1, every spin motor only needs 1 ant (burst motors still need to be fully powered, so the flipper's all good) so you could get away with having 3 ants in it, but it's safer to have 4. This would free up some weight to do some other stuff! :D

Quite good for first robots but there are things that need changing.

1. Never use angle connectors, use side attachment points of extenders on other extenders.

2. Make your Flipper more wedgy.

Also some general advice:

State wheter you are an IRL builder or standard builder, it helps us to give you advice with your building style

Make a skin for your robots to make them seem more appealing

Say what your armour is

But wait for some more experianced members advice rather than mine

i had a littel 1kilo version of t710p irl whit a blade insted of a disc. sadly i disassemble it some months ago

Actually you don't need to do this. Just build what you want and follow our advice, you'll fall into a certain style eventually.

Welcome to the forums, your bots look pretty good. I'd use a DSL bar instead of a disc for your spinner, that should make it harder for your weaponry to come off.

Yeah, really like Ironbull, the only problem I can see is that the flipper doesn't touch the ground, but it doesn't matter too much

Not bad.  You can make a better chassis shape though.


Combine your skin with that chassis and it would be about right.

On a side note, when you do a Google image search for Plunderbird 5, WHY do a bunch of anime girls that look like they were drawn by Jonzu come up?

I like it. I think it would look better if you moved the shell plates back and used longer ones.
