I would think a 40 cm steel skirt would be better than a DSL bar in this case.  Also I'm not sure what it is but the poly extender being out in the open like that worries me.  Find a way to cover it up.

2 new different ideas. One's courtesy of "The Ounce" and the other was thought of by me. Which one's better? His, mine, or neither?

I was hoping to be able to protect the bottom of the motor as well. I added a castor to the bottom of the bot to have a somewhat "invincible" bottom. I like the finished product a lot thanks to everyone who helped  :claping

Ok here's my newest VS: Acute Pain! Same chassis and armor as Black Death. (Plastic 5) Titanium 80 CM skirts, 40cm steel extender that attaches to the motor, titanium 20cm skirt attachments. Based on Doomkiller's CCIV entry which can be found here:

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think you can lighten your extender work.

I see what u did there, Nar.

I would try to lighten the extender work a little bit, and try to have Long Axle Astroflights for extra turning speed and stability. Maybe something to protect the disc, even if it's just a 20cm CF extender.

When you guys say lighten, do you mean to downgrade the type certain extenders, or use less extenders?

Less.

And try to use flipper segs instead of steel extenders on LW for hp and weight, unless you somehow need the AP's

Lighten usually means downgrade to either Polycarbonate or Carbon Fibre if you can get away with it. Shorten means use shorter extenders, and "clean up" basically means you could do the setup with less extenders, or make it more balanced.

Ok so i believe I "lightened up" the extender work. The new problem is that it's unrealistic. Just wondering, should I angle the flipper segment up one more "click" so that the motor is higher and I can change the angle of the skirts?

You could add a CF extender between the flipper segment and the Magmotor, nothing's going to hit it if the disc is angled enough. You could also upgrade the chassis armour, and add a 20cm CF extender to the disc to protect it.

Why is there a poly holding the skirt?

Just put it on the flipper segment and get rid of the second flipper seg holding the drive, you don't really need it.

And just make the motor longer, put another flipper seg on it.
Then add more chassis armour/external armour.

CF extender meaning Carbon fiber? It only has 1 AP

It does have two AP's on each of the longer edges, which is useful if you're trying to attach two things at 90 degrees.

Thanks NFX, I didn't know that. Here's what I did to it. I tried to get the best angle that I could. The motor is angled down 2 clicks which might be too much or not enough. But not being able to self right is becoming an issue

Well for starters you can attach the skirts directly to the multis and attach the drive to the skirts to save 6kg. You can also maybe get a lighter way to attach the weapon motor and then upgrade drive, armor, weapon motor, whatever.

Everyone says that motors on skirt hinges are fail in DSL. I can't attach them to the skirts anyway since they are only 80CM.
