Perhaps just having straight skirts might help with protection, they'd give you more HP for the same weight or less. If you upgrade the wedges to Titanium or so, that might improve wedginess a bit. I'd also put Hypnos on there if you could.

Ok so I'll go 80cm straight skirts instead of the 80CM Angled ones. I'm guessing upgrading to Tit wedges will make them wedgier because they weigh more? And just curious, why does everyone prefer Hypnos?

EDIT: Hypno wheels make in invertible and it weighs 251.1 KG

Hypno wheels are really grippy for their weight and size, like 1.8 or something compared to the 1.3-or-something of Rubbers.

Damn ninja.

High grip compared to wheels of a similar weight, and in some cases heavier wheels. Since grip is a speed multiplier (amidointhisrite?) hypnos= more speed than say Vlads.

superior grip for its weight.
I think you can shrink the chassis further but i'm not sure if it would hinder wedgyness or such.
Might be able to add more weapons then.

Dammit ninjas...

If it's lacking in invertibility (It's a wammer, you'll be on the back foot if you're inverted anyway) Then maybe you could drop the front shields to 40cm panels. That should get you back under the weight limit as well. Razor rack can also be angled forwards.

Invertible with Hypnos, Titanium wedges, aluminum 40CM pannels, 5 raised razors on a skirt hinge, 2 ants, 2 NPC fasts. I kinda wanted the 2 outside pannels to be angled because the acted as an anti-flipper protection.

Move the CB back/ place it upwards and shrink the chassis wedge and you can fit the sixth razor on :D
Might even be able to fit the NPC's on externally, it will make them a bit weaker however. Your choice.

@ty4er I moved the CB back behind the motor and stood it up. What do you mean by shrink the chassis wedge? I can't shrink the chasis because the whole wedge wouldn't be nearly as effective and I might not be able to fit the skirt hinges. Where would the 6th razor go? Sorry I don't quite understand

Your skirt hinge holding on the armour has an odd collision mesh which will currently be prising your bots front up, I reckon.

Ah, well remembered. Older versions of DSL 2.1 may have the "Narmour" skirt hinge with the enormous collision mesh. JoeBlo fixed the collision mesh so that doesn't happen, you can download it from somewhere.

I learned the hard way with a couple of my very early bots.

Another n00b question... What's a collision mesh? Sorry.

It's what the component hits other components with, essentially. You can press F12 to see them. Some of them are fairly straightforward, like the extenders, but things like the Overkill Blade, old skirt hinge, or Mace are a bit different to what you'd think.

So where can I download Joeblo's fix? I think it would really make the bot more effective.

EDIT: Ok I think I found the problem with the collision mesh. First of all, I was wondering why my bot at first stood upright almost. I then angled the razors down more and that solved the problem. The skirt hinge was angled so that it made contact with the ground before the wheels did. I now fixed it so that the wheels barely touch before the skirt hinge. Now for the 2 wedges, those hinges make contact before the panels themselves. I don't think there is a fix for this. Hopefully the image will help me explain myself better.

There's a thread about it in the Modifications and Design forum, I'm pretty sure there's a download link in there somewhere.

Ok so other than that, any other fixes that would make the bot better? I want to move on to another one of my bots.

I think it would be better with less drive and MOAR RAZORS. No seriously. Stick with normal NPC's, remove the metal sheet protection, you also can get aluminium for these wedges as well, maybe just use one wedge with a small wedge on it (it's better generally) and add more razors.
