Titanium half sheet for bottom protection.
The use the side AP's of that half sheet to attatch the stabilizers and drive to.

Personally, I think you can get by alright with aluminium stabilizers rather than titanium ones for LWs

Alu ones fall off a lot faster when posed with a HS or similarly weaponed bot - believe me. You have punting potential to keep bots away from the chassis, so you want to keep the other vital parts well shielded. Or that's my ethos.

I'm just speaking from my experience here, bottom protection comes in more handy than stronger stabilizers, plus, by attaching them to the half sheet, they'll end up further away from the chassis, which is obviously where other bots will most likely be aiming for.

I like both ideas a lot, but I have a new issue: The weapon motor is knocked off very easily. Is there anything I can do about that?

Edit: It appears I had lighter armor than aluminum 3 when I took the last bot shot. So with plastic 5 and titanium 80cm skirts, it only weighs 132.? So there's a lot of extra weight

Well it appears that once the perm 80 is connected, the other AP's "aren't there". RA2 doesn't recognize that I'm trying to connect to the other AP's

You have to put them on an ME then.

Ugh wanna finish this so badly! Plastic 5 Armor, Titanium 80cm stabilizers, 3 ant batts, Perm 80 L, and lots of leftover weight.

Well, as another tip, if you have the leftover weight, but not enough for a half sheet, you can use casters on the bottom of the bot as well, just like in stock, for an invincible (ish) bottom.

Main concern would be to protect that weapon motor... just look at blood orange in RA2TC2 ;P

@ Scorpion: I'm sorry, I don't have a clue how to find Blood Orange in RA2TC3. I still am getting used to navigating around the site. What does RA2TC3 stand for? Again I'm sorry, could you help me out?

It was the RA2 Team Championships 3. Blood Orange always lost it's motor, so it's a priority for protection.
I built that big robot on that TV show that time

Oh, it's just a tournament that blood orange was involved in (it stands for robot arena 2 team championships 3).
I just referenced it as an example of how weak those perm 80s are, and also to have a little dig at craaig for having a differing opinion to me before ;P

Ok thanks for the help. Like I said, I'm not quite used to all the abbreviations and stuff yet, so bare with me. I'm looking into NAR AI again, but last time I screwed the whole game up, so that's not a priority right now. I really need to learn how to AI

dude, with the extra weight from just attaching those skirts directly to the multis and what you have already protect that motor. The small perms have sh** hp and them falling off is the downfall of most of these designs

Seems like this is working well for the time being. I personally like it. 30 to 40 DSL bar on a polycarb 20cm extender. The extender isn't exposed too much, it never gets hit.
