Cougar's Showcase
« on: March 19, 2010, 11:53:58 AM »
Pretty much my first bots in DSL, probably spent about 20 hours on them all.

I know that some of them are considered useless, but I'm mainly toying around.

LW

Been working on Packa Punch since 9am, it's now 5pm. Mainly tweaking and remaking lol.

I'll be making some more at some point, other than a drum bot.

Packa Punch is too slow to be good. It needs to be invertible as well.

You don't need more than 6 ant batteries on it as well (rule of thumb: 1 ant battery must be used for EACH spin motor (from copals to 2-Perms: amps do not matter on spin motors), but you can add more if you want battery power, useful on a HW)

I very much like the first and the last one. replace the battlepacks with ants and make Packa Punch invertible.

Thanks for that  , glad I've been told sooner than later.

Thanks! :D I'll sort them out tomorrow, I was intending to make it invertible, but didn't really happen. Once Packa Punch is done I will move on to something else.

Not bad.

Try to find a setup that doesn't uses all these steel extenders and use an AX2550 when you have the space. I know, it's just 1 kg saved, but every kg counts if you want to be a good builder.

EDIT: ARGH Thyrus beat meh

EDIT 2: And when your HWs will repeatedly trash Wiide Load and Grog, it will be a good idea to go NAR AI.

Look in Modifications and Designs.
Better than GK since 2009.
I think SM is a pretty cool guy, eh builds unicycle-bots and doesn't afraid of anything

I.
Hate.
WIIIDE LOAD.
>_<

I like Pockapunch, One thing that Ive learned with NAR AI is that those types of bots are the ones that do the most damage.
IDK if the sawblades are doing much there though :S
I think theyre slowing down the drums (just a bit) since they wont do much damage

You should also consider the wedge, Its gonna be more effective with the wedge but if another bot with a better wedge comes, Packapunch wont be able to do any damage until its wedges are broken...
You could have it wedgeless like WIIIDE Load or
You could have it with a wedge for more effectiveness, But only if the wedge is better than the opponent's ofcourse :P

Thankyou! :D

I pwned WIIIDE LOAD first 2 times, it seems to go about 50-50 on the W/L ratio, it's easy to get under the enemy and just chip away at them. Is WIIIDE LOAD a HW or a SHW? Cause there are alot of beater bars and drums. O_o
