It happens quite often in wedge lock situations. Sometimes axles go out of their sockets with too much pressure. As the metal hinge is a servo, it has an axle, and it can go out of it's axle.

RA2 isn't realistic. There is just a force magically keeping the mobile part of the metal hinge next to the fixed part, and there another force (probably your bot's weight) is keeping the first force at bay.

It is, and it has (Thus far) Outwedged every MW bot in NAR AI (But do keep in mind I've only tried the first 20 teams)

My bad, I know that it's an old bot and that a VS should beat it, it's just that I usually have no pride in fight so I was happy with the results. I will change the spelling.
