My "artillery" bot for 2vs2 langames :D

he hits in very long range and sends enemys to heck usually, with a nice driving is good, but is bad cause they pull me out >_<

all are burst piston , 2 balance shards for armor (i read that they are invulnerable) and a balance multi angle with 2 motor , a total 6 pidgeon gives that a decent movility ^^

-------------------------------------------------

Sorry , i saw now i´m not posting in the correct section, if a mod can move all posts to the Dsl section "Arkaaa showcase" i will be grateful

SORRY all :( i will continue posting in correct place

Apart from what those guys are saying...
Why are the hammers spinning? That won't help the damage much.
Secondly, free space. This will end up getting drilled into your head, does to everyone, but try and make your chassis around what components your gonna use. Open space wastes a lot of weight.

But otherwise, these are alright bots. Good to use someone using the Etek drive without prompting (first bot) as well

That's fairly good for a beginner, you aren't making some of the more stupid mistakes a lot of people do. However, you will want a flatter chassis and more compact component placement, to reduce empty space.

Also, Piglets are terrible for drive, and not all so great for weapons of a HW either.

To be honest, the first sucks, the second too but the third is very interesting.

I'm going to clone that.

Fairly good? I say this is totally average for a newbie. Piglets for drive again, classic eteks for drive, unrealistic, underpowered...

Anyway, on a more serious note:
- If that is a heavyweight, saws SUCK.
- EMPTY SPACE, it WASTES WEIGHT, IS NOT COOL, and makes your bot a BIGGER TARGET.
- Badly underpowered.
- You probably wasted all that weight for 10 mm steel, when it could be used for external defenses and better weapons.
- Piglets SUCK. Used for drive motors or not.
- If you use e-teks for drive, use the ones labeled with DRIVE on them. They are called DRIVE motors for a reason!!!
- Moar wedge pls

Wrong and wrong. Saws are devastating on a HW if used right, and piglets are fine for subweight classes.

You have a whole lot of free space which im sure someone has already told you. On the hammer spinner there is way to many connectors used keep it simple. You just gotta think more practical and reduce the space.

I think the first one was an attempt to use the chicken glitch with a SnS.

All right, after few days mounting some bots i think i have found a REALLY DESTRUCTIVE combo.

I will post it soon :D

EDiting:

I starting doing this in cheat model so i used claws to get a "trap" effect, i did reversible with a cheap modification. I will study this days repeating this with a more compated chasis, more battery(for full drain) and other fixes.

A good idea and a bad bot i think, maybe some botters can give me some opinions about this model.

thanks!

PD:Two attack, repulsive (all going out) or trap effect (all getting in) i found it useful , i think i will get two more attack buttons for the two motors to get in 4 button all the posible combination.

cool design but why are there casters inside the chassis
Title: Arkaaa Showcase
Post by: Naryar on June 30, 2009, 12:02:56 AM
Use multi extenders rather than an unneccesarily heavy and vulnerable Steel extender work.
Title: Arkaaa Showcase
Post by: Reier on June 30, 2009, 10:03:46 AM
Much better than your last one, but Naryar is right. Also try to make it invertible.
Title: Arkaaa Showcase
Post by: arkaaa on June 30, 2009, 11:04:11 AM
thank you for opinions :D

BTW: No casters inside the bot and this one is reversible at now, look at that two upping wheels

edit:Drive motors go very fast up & down, but turning is sooo fast, ¿Any idea for a better & more controled turning without losing speed?

PD:Searching very destructive combos, any opinion will be good, thanks!

Get your wheels closer to each other. Your turnspeed will decrease. (Not TOO close)

And the opposite works too: the wider is your wheel stance, the faster is your turnspeed.

Or, wire it so just one wheel turns.

Btw will be good if someone post here a "mini" guide about doing decent flips or wedges for my bots (i am really lost in that way) ¿what burst motor is best?

Thanks in advance

Studying at now in build small and compact chassis and multistack ant batterys, and other rare things (I´m reading a lot about "glitches")

in one day i will post a strange one :D

Post by: Naryar on July 01, 2009, 02:51:46 AM
don't stack ant batts.

All burst motors are good for flippers.

I though multi-extenders was one component of my packs and was not using it for that.

Thanks you for advice me :D.

BTW:What is multiextender HP?

PD:Sorry for the double post

As long as it is attached to your baseplate, it is infinite.
