RA2 playing time question thing.
« on: April 13, 2015, 04:37:18 PM »
When was the last time yous played RA2 and how often do you play it now?

I really have lost interest in it. I want to enter in tournaments and host one but to be honest there's just better games out there that I like to play more than this. Anyone else feels like this?

Old Stock Showcase: https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php?topic=6590.0

I've moved to other forums. Under a different name. This is where it all began.

I love to watch fights, so I mainly go on for hosting purposes. When the RW mod is released, I'll be doing a lot more watching, too.

Pretty much play it exclusively for building robots for tournaments and for hosting my own tournaments.

i occasionally build something maybe once every other week, will maybe build stuff this week.

or occasionally i have a burst of motivation but it is usually alcohol

Also I haven't driven a bot into battle since forever. in the test garage for driving straight purposes maybe but even then, test garage is usually to save my design.

only interest I have in ra2 is building cool designs, occasionally, and rarely a tournament. and helping the newbies as usual. otherwise nope.

Well, I pretty much try to build what I can whenever I can and whenever I have an idea. I do things in RA2 to cure boredom and try to have some fun with it by building bots and making mock and real tournaments. I always try to come up with something, even if it's innovative or generic and try to ignore the game's faulty physics and taking advantage of them as well as hoping the game doesn't screw me over at those times. It's still a playable game in my opinion, don't get me wrong, but it shows it's 12 years old at this time and how aged it is. I do what I can with the game before it rubs off me again. Even though I have fun with the game, I probably wouldn't recommend this game to everyone since its mostly a time killer.

When there's a combination of time, patience and inspiration. That's closer to "The odd day here and there." than any other option.

Haven't touched RA2 since the last post in my showcase.
I feel like I want to make something pretty damn good to be worth posting.
Better than GK since 2009.
I think SM is a pretty cool guy, eh builds unicycle-bots and doesn't afraid of anything

when i had it at least once a week but now that im stuck on mac-only and it runs funny on here and i have to do that whole windows false partition nonsense just to get it running all glitched out i don't really touch it. i've got it installed on my brother's computer just in case i absolutely can't continue life without throwing down an idea i had but it's rare that happens as much now and the dude's a bit stingy on letting me get my build on as much as i love the lil dude

i agree. it did make better tv than battlebots though, but the modern combat circuit is better.

Of course it made for better TV. I've said this for years. Battlebots was a robot combat competition that just happened to be on TV and Robot Wars was a TV show that just happened to be a robot combat competition.

I agree. Robochallenge and the various antweight events in the uk tend to be more like battlebots.

"Barely touch it - the game is not as fun as it used to be." fits me quite well.. Nowadays I play so much CS:GO, GTA V and LFS. I'm pretty sure the RW Mod will boost up my interest back to the game for sure though.
