Title: What is DSL?

I've been reading a lot of threads on here, and again, I apologize for being a complete newb when it comes to these things as I am just getting back into playing RA2 again.

I just downloaded the stock version of the game, as if it were a fresh install, etc, and that's what I've been playing on.  I keep hearing people talking about DSL and other things.  Is DSL something that adds more parts, etc, to the game?  If I were to play online via Hamachi with someone, would I be at a disadvantage if I just were using the basic parts?

I only just got Robot Arena 2 a couple of days ago. I downloaded it.

Where can i get this DSL? sorry if its an obvious anser, but... im new

In the downloads section. Click home at the top of the page, then look for a link with DSL next to it in brackets.

ok, thanks guys :) ive got the updates now.

I also downloaded a whole batch of new bots (.bot files), but I dont know how to actually get them into the game. Does anybody know how to get the new bots into the game?

This is the file i downloaded from this site:
'DSL v2.0 AI bots  (You will also need DSL components)'

it contains lots of robots basically, like some from Robot Wars and such.

Uhhh well you can either put all the bots into the "Robot Designs" folder inside the main robot arena 2 folder, or if you download DSL from the place i showed you those bots will be able to be fought against by you.

alright, ive got that sorted. When selecting robots for my team it says i can upload, and it comes up with pics of each of the robots in the batch. Problem is, everytime i clicked to import one into my team, the programme crashes.

Oh well, should fix itself :P

Yeh I have. Downloaded it from Gametechmods, versions 2.0 then 2.1

It may have gone wrong somewhere, download the ready to play version from Sage's sig :D
