Alright, who's got a bot they aren't happy with but can live with the flaw to a certain degree?

There's no bot that is flawless, so everyone should be posting their bots here.

Say that you build a robot that seems to work while testing it. You're happy. Then you have it battle another bot (AI or multiplayer) and there is something wrong with the weapon. It doesn't properly work as you thought. I always have that problem when building bots with flippers. They work by themselves, but when fighting, there are rubbish. Quite disappointing. Even the srimech doesn't work. That's the point of this thread.

That's why people make showcases... to ask people how they can improve on their bot.

I think you'll find one of my bots already in a showcase, but I could show another. Also, check out the "Pay Tribute to Replica's" showcase. That has some of mine. Tilly Xp, Mortis, and Panic. Even my Beast of Bodmin. Although, it did flip Roadblock from Wham's beta release. Other than that, they can't flip.

Actually, building bad bots doesn't seem like a bad idea. Try and make them stand a fighting chance, though.

Alright, I think we should post in any failed experiments to here so we can check it out, and them give the name. Otherwise, we'll just be trying to work out what he bot's called and end up giving it a name, ourselves. If anyone here knows how to AI a bot, that'd be lovely. Also be good to have someone record them battling to see which will be the best worst robot every built. I can already tell you that my Inferno and Doberbot will die. I'll post them in later. I've got a feeling that this isn't a usual showcase, but it's something different. It'd be great to have them all fight each other. Also, if you have machines that are really slow, but are good, then they are allowed. If the machine's weapon is very powerful, but it's really slow, that machine can enter. I think this will be very fun.

P.S: Anyone know how to change the name of this forum?

This topic is in General Discussion, so just go ahead and make a new thread in the DSL/Stock/Custom Showcase section depending on what your bots use.

As for AI, I already sent you all the tutorials I can, just go through them and even see how already AIed bots work to get a decent grasp. As for filming, you'll be lucky to get anyone non-lazy enough - just AI them yourself and then battle then for yourself :)

Alright, how about this. We all build roots that are quite crap, post the picture here, export it for download, tell the name, then I'll download them, try to get them AI'd and then have them kick the living crap out of each other. They much stand a fighting chance, though. Otherwise, it'll be a pointless battle. And if I can't get the hang of the AIing, I'll get my friend, Dynamo, to help me with the battles and it'll be a multiplayer battle. if that becomes the case, I won't have any control of who the winner will be. It'd be good if they were for DSL, though. I don't have Ironforge, and I'm not sure if it can be downloaded for the game. Please give me a heads up on the Ironforge stuff and please send the robot pics here. Make them look good, too. They much be crap-ish, but they should also be very good looking. I'll try the tournament whenever I get the chance. It shouldn't be that long for me. This should test what I can do in this game.

Martymidget, everyone makes a robot that has a flaw, somewhere.

Craaig, I'd love to record them at my place, but both my C drive and D drive are both in the red. There basically full. I could always try it at my nan's, however. Just hope there's enough space. Also, I haven't read the AI yet because I've been recording with Fraps.

Use the 'Modify' button on the very first post, but only if the new title is going to be relevant to this section of the forum (General Discussion).
If it's a tournament or showcase, just make a new thread in the relevant area.
