So I'm guessing youre having trouble playing RA2/DSL because you have Nvidia videocard?

Well... I was told that Nvidia would cause trouble and forced to buy a ATI videocard when I was building myself a new computer.

My Mobo (motherboard) has a Nvidia video chipset onboard. So I wanted to test it to see what kind of error I would get when playing RA2.... my god. I don't think we can cure it with gib files. It only can be fixed by the orignal programming. (the EXE curse)

....so, youre screwed, unless you can buy & install a different videocard.

ATI isn't bad... It's like comparing Nvidia as Intel when there is AMD.

(If you want the big bang for the buck under 200... get Sapphire's ATI X1600 XT, which I got it for 168 bucks at newegg.com)

well i have a bfg 7800 GT OC and it cost me a pretty penny
so if i wanna play ra2 i have to buy an ati card ...

Mean2u you play on ATI's 9800 card very well robot arena 2 because I have 9800 Pro AIW (All-In-Wonder) and that plays just fine all details at max and resolution at 1024x768 and frames are normally something like 60-100. Of course when something weird happens, like techno destructo sinks in the arena's floor or something like that, that starts to eat frames worth over 30 frames.

Does your mobo (motherboard) have onboard video chipset that is not Nvidia? If so, then youre luck, I guess.

yeash my motherboard has an intergrated card in it but i cant swith between the two because it causes conflicts if i have the drivers for ati and nvidia on the same computer dunno why just is

Lol, the thing is though, my other games like DoW, UT2k4 etc. like Nvidia cards more. Conflict. :lol:

im running an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 on my machine, and have no problems with RA2 stock or DSL, I want to eventually upgrade to an ATI 256 card, but cannot afford it at the moment, already sunk over 1k into my comp this year......

and people though I paid well over 2k bucks... actually, I have not gone over 1k at all... close though.

actually, half of that 1k went into two 17" LCD Monitors, so I only spent about $500 on the Mboard (ASUS K8V X SE) one gig stick of ram (to make 1.5 Gb) an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ CPU, and a Maxtor SATA 200 Gb HDD

although a dual core CPU would rock for my 3D modeling..........

I run RA2 DSL-TC 2.0 at full settings and I get 43 fps in garage while I build bot but the fps crashes down if I add half titanium sheet there. I haven't played the mod much since half year but I did yesterday. Just tested few bot ideas and they sucked quite much because they weren't so creative and good.

Anyway, I got under 20 fps on the arena while I was fighting. And I have Nvidia's GeForce 2 MX 440 graphic card now or so. So that isn't good at all. Because my Ati Radeon 9800 Pro AIW broke down and IF I get summer job I will at last get some money and I can buy new graphic card. Maybe new computer too because I have to get my driver's license too and that eats up almost all my money on the bank account.

Oh yeah. And even I have Nvidia's card, this card is so damn old that it won't create any weird errors and stuffs like that and I haven't applied the Nvidia's patch from official ra2's site nor from the dsl's site.
