The pimp-a-bot thread
« on: June 01, 2007, 01:00:22 AM »
This thread is for posting 'bots that you think should be considered for future DSL patches or versions.

Or for something I'd assume would be fairly easy, import some of the better bots from the AU battlebots pack. (Mauler 5150 being a personal favorite, or heckfire 666 as it was last known http://www.buildersdb.com/botpics/490.jpg)

I'm not 100% sure how it works, but they've got a mechanism in there that when used takes the energy from the spinning shell and converts that into the motion used to actuate the flipper

Sounds bit like a car's clutch system. When you release it engine's revolving power moves to the car's tyres. Same with this flipper thing. The shell is the "car's engine" and when you release the clutch the flipper pops up.
I was Da beta tester Da da dada DA, Da. And that felt good.

Yeah Warrior sounds pretty awesome.  I wish I could see some of its battles though.

Transferring a few of the AUBB bots (with some stat balancing of course) isn't a bad idea actually.  Some of the DSL replicas are already from that pack.  I have all of those bots on my computer already.  I think Warhead, for one, would make a nice addition

R1885 there is no point answering to a spam bot's bump on the same thread.

...doesn't includes continuing the thread, like SB just did.

by the way, i'm quoting this for truth

I quite like the idea of Warrior.
Stinger, Wild Thing and Ripper are fairly cool in my opinion.
Ziggy, now thats a good robot, or our version, Flick!
Dantomkia, Bigger Brother, Turbulance, Terrorhurtz, Iron-Awe 5, Tilly Ewe 2, Flow!, Mute, Wedgie, 360, and some of pur popular robots.
What do you lot think of my ideas?
Damn I should probably put something fancy in this bit huh?

Goose said that the DSL team only got permission to use a few of the AU replicas.  Otherwise I would have included some with the 2.1 patch.

Now, with AU gone, I'm not sure if that still applies.  Maybe goose would have a better idea than I do.

Don't we have a former member of AU on this forum?  I believe he also gave permission to use the bots .....

Not that I know of.

Let's see, the AU staff was A.W., TDS, and carp104... that I know of.  I was never a member there.  Maybe I'm missing someone, correct me if I'm wrong.

Klichka. It was a moderator in AU, was here perhaps a month ago and he agreed with using the AU battlebots pack for DSL.

We're the only important community in RA2. AU is dead and buried. Why won't we cannibalize this pack?

For DSL 3.0, maybe someone can contact him...

I think that this post might be enough...
