The future of this game/forum?
« on: July 13, 2011, 11:24:22 AM »
I was having a think there and a question hit me.How long will this forum/game last?
People like one of my relatives are saying `robot combat is dead it is time to move on and like stuff that is normal like football`.
This annoyed me so I'm asking you people how long will people be playing this game.. No wait here is a better question. How long will this sport last? To me I'd give it 10 years and then gets more advanced and continues for a lonnnnng time.

So who will be playing this game in 5/10/15 years and doing the sport that this forum is about?

It is getting better, popularity of robot combat is going up again

Just before we had a half built heavyweight robot half hanging out the car boot for about ten mins, and some random kid came up and asked "Was that on Robot Wars?"
It has not been forgotten about, and popularity is going up, and this means so will RA2

I agree with Vert, the popularity of robot combat dipped a lot during the mid 00's period but is slowly rising again

EDIT: 250 posts :D

I'll be playing this game so long as their continues to be a community devoted to it.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

But you've got to think about the future and I remember you know that guy from team run amok in which people ask questions I remember asking him that question and here is what he said:
`I believe that robot combat will recover from its current low ebb, but I don't think it will ever return to the high interest and exposure it had in the early years.`
