Honestly there's quite a few bots mentioned that I don't know like the ones which won tournaments other then BBEANS, I don't think enough attention is given to the smaller tournaments to warrant the title of top 100 most memorable to any robots unless that robot is something special (like Skinhead due to the turret AI).

In order of most memorable for me it goes:

AI Bots
BBEANS bots
Popular showcase (INF, Click, Sage etc.) bots
Older Bots (Thumperizer etc.)
Smaller tournament (RAW, Clash Cubes, Tag Team Challenge etc.) Bots

Again I don't think we should include robots just because they won a minor tournament unless there's something special about that robot.

I know none of mine are worth mentioning. Hence, why I have mentioned my only half-way decent bot in a sarcastic manner. The bot that beat yours in that CCII grudge match, actually.

The list will never be finalized or even a rough list, because it will never be agreed upon anyway. So I don't care to begin with.

Alright Badnik, this list needs to have some quality control.

One idea I had was to create a new thread (or this thread I guess) using the list of bots we have right now, and ask people to list which bots they thing should be removed from the list. If any particular bot gets more than say... 10 votes or something, then the bot is removed from the list. Once we at least narrow the list down to bots we can all agree deserve to be there, we can attempt to find enough deserving bots to fill the list completely.

I really believe setting it to be a certain quota is a bad idea. Like you just said, some of them would be filler.

I suppose you're right. Once the bots have been narrowed down, I guess it would be best that we just leave it as is.

Have we exactly defined what does "memorable" means in this context ? Is it just adding originality, combat prowess and fame together ?

Maybe we should agree on some ruleset on what a bot needs in order to be there.

I suggest we select a core of a few bots which are accepted as legendary by the whole community, like EMERGENCY, AC, Mako, Hazcon, RPB, Fury, Neglected Waterbug, etc...

Then add other bots.
