Have we defined exactly what makes a bot worth top 100 ? Originality ? Innovation ? Combat potential ?

I don't think Destroyer, SFTW, Bane X, Minesweeper, ItI, Rage III, Razor Guy, Minesweeper, Terrible Sight (which was NOT the first implementation of Narmor) should be here.

We should do it by categories. Top 100 deadliest (at the time), top 100 most original, top 100 most innovative, top 100 most iconic. Of course a bot can be in two categories or more.

100 is far too large a number for lists like this. On each list after about #20 or so, you're getting into some fairly obscure territory. Keep the list small, but just present it well.

exactly what I was thinking.

If it's done like that, then 100 is probably going to be a bit too much. 25 or 50 would work best, I think. However, I
do think splitting them all up into categories is a great idea.

The ENTIRE POINT of this was to get the 100 bots that are the most well-known, innovative and effective bots here. Categorizing it IMO just ruins it, as then all 4 lists would each have like 7 or 8 of the same bots and then what? I already said we can DECIDE on what ones make the cut.

10 years.. so that works out just 2 robots a year?

50 might be a more workable size..

And I still like the Top 50/100 Bots, period; ignoring DSL, Stock, and whatever other categories exist.

Also Bumble Bee I think popularized crawlers in Stock, plus it was one of the most controversial bots ever.

List simply needs to be robots that got RA2 from Start to Present.. New Glitches, Designs, Ideas, etc (not including one trick pony robots from BOTM and the like.. eg: half of my robots) something that made people give the idea a crack themselves..

Its a celebration of 10 years.. not really a comparison of well built robots.. thats what tournaments are for..

Well thats just one persons opinion.. the title "top 100" suggests combat effectiveness/ win streaks should be the primary focus
