Solution to an effeing problem
« on: April 14, 2009, 01:12:22 AM »
I don't know if this has been found or not but apparently there is an issue with being unable to balance maces if the were placed using the effe glitch. Well I was suffering with the same problem with my 27 irons hs, so I found a great solution.
I used an extender setup where I had a 20cm extender like pointed towards the floor at the end of a 40cm extender. I think absolute chaos has the same setup. Anyways, I couldn't get my maces to balance after mounting them using the effe glitch. So, I deleted all of my maces, and replaced them with iron spikes which weigh the same (10kg) as the maces. Since the iron spikes have a smaller diameter, they didnt require the effe glitch to mount, just some careful turning.
Once my bot had the 27 iron spikes, I would adjust my burst motors so that my 3 motors were almost perfectly inside of eachother and everything was balanced right. THEN, and this is the important part.... I deleted all the iron spikes on the end of one of my 9 arms and used the effe glitch to replace them with maces. Delete the 3 iron spikes at the end of one arm and use effeing to add 3 maces to where they were. Delete, add, delete add. Repeat this until all of the iron spikes have been replaced with maces. At the end, the maces mounted using the effing glitch will be just as balanced as the iron spikes were. AND, if you hit f12, all of the maces are lined up and where you want them to be.

I hope this helps some people out....... Just make sure to balance you iron spikes while they are spinning slowly in the first place.

As you can see, I have some empty space, sorry about that. At some point I'll rebuild it with a smaller body. I beat little darling, rabid pitbull, borg queen, and neglected waterbug without too much trouble. Its a great stock bot. I have 3 burst mounted hp zteks that all line up almost perfectly, and its stays that balanced when it spins up.

Is AC like that? (as in, are the maces all messed up or straight)?
I built that big robot on that TV show that time

Dang... I just tried this on my new bot. Exact same weapon setup and everything, but a good deal more compact, and it doesn't work. It worked 2 times before, perfectly, but for some reason, it doesn't this time. my maces are all messed up. Does anyone have a solution to this? How can I get them to balance? Or is there no way besides rebuilding...
