I just downloaded the AI components pack from the downloads section that includes components like the ninja star and emergency's flipper, but also a 'snapper II burst motor' and I was just wondering how effective it was compared to the original snapper burst motor and the DDT motor?
-
It absoultely fails at firing. It is used for stacking.
-
good to know, cheers. :)
EDIT
One thing how is it viewed in tournaments? Illegal or is it fine to use?
-
Perfectly legal in stock tournaments.
-
just a tip.. I have the same components for download on my website
www.robotarena.info (http://www.robotarena.info)
but they are all fixed with preview images (not white squares)
-
It consumes a lot of power for very low torque. Mostly used for stacking.
-
What AI bot uses it if any?
-
No stock AI bots use the Snapper II.
-
it should really be a cheat part but its become quite a "core" piece of good stock robots, it would be shooting ourselves in the foot if we got rid of it. :P
-
Yes. According to DSL rule, all hidden parts are cheating.
-
Stock=/=DSL
-
Stock AI parts were a different story as if the stock robots could use them why not us ? the only reason for hiding them was because they were made for the theme of the particular teams
the SnapperII isnt actually an AI part though, its in the same category as the 5kg square extender
-
The hidden stock parts are pretty much the same as the zombie head part from RA1.
They were "unfinished", and simply ended up as hidden.
