Sheck spinners always had a flag or a shrimech on top and has 2 or more motors aligned like this,O=O. My idea is to create a motor specifically made for shell spinners where the multiple motors rotate as one component to spin the shell to look like the motors are spinning the edges like in RL. And to fit the edge spinning motors, there will be a shell disk with a hole in the middle so you may fit a static structure to self right. This would be a cool real life addition to DSL.

Dual Perm anyone?

The motors point outward so they spin the EDGES of the disk and there would be a gap between the motors and the attachment point may be penetrated (yeah sounds dirty) with a self righting pole.
-
one issue I see with this (and its a big one) components on RA2 interest with each other, the motor intending to spin the outside shell wouldn't be able to "friction" with it to move it
-
They will spin but it would be an illusion like serge's brushless motor (my guess is make it look like there are tornadoes on each motor making it look like it will make it spin). the spinning point would be invisible and penetrable. and same with the disk, no center and the center is penetrable.
-
so the invisible axle spins as do the wheels on the side ?
-
Yes.

This would only work on a replica. Only one size shell could be used per motor, and it would keep working even once the side panels on the shell broke off, which wouldn't make sense. You would need to make new one-piece shell components. And a lot of them.
Easier to just make motors like this custom for replica bots.

I didn't think about it that way... Oh well.
