Is there a Pack that includes all Components?

Hello Guys,

Recently i started getting back into RA2 after i found this website with a youtube comment.

I downloaded all the components of the Components Page on this website, i even extracted components from various AI-Packs.

It Took me days to test what components worked, what components crashed the game, what components had duplicate files etc...

I had to start over again multiple times... in the end i just Shift-Deleted everything that had to do with Robot Arena 2 on my Pc... 

So now i come and ask you guys, is there something like a Massive Component Package or something? Or what AI-Pack / Mod would you recommend me...
I would like to have as much components combined as possible :)

We barely use any custom components normally, but if you want to get some, I recommend to download the NAR AI (mod) for DSL.

Is that for the tournaments you guys organize? Or everybody just uses the default components only??

Yes on both. There are some exceptions that we use them... like Bot of the month tournaments, when there are no specified rules. I used to download custom components but I eventually stopped using them. There are also some custom components on the Downloads section & BeetleBros site.

As far as big packs go, you get the most bang for your buck from Firebeetle's component pack and DSL. Dummy, DarkRat, and ][cer also had some pretty good packs (the latter isn't hosted on GTM anymore). There is no comprehensive pack with all the components. In fact, there aren't as many custom components up for download as there used to be.

Unless you get a pack of them, custom components are generally not balanced enough for fair combat. For that reason, it was generally frowned upon to use them in the past. That hasn't really changed much in recent years but we now have a custom showcase for people wanting to show off bots that use them (you won't see them as often in other sections like BOTM or tournaments).

As far as standard components go, there are 3 supported component packs:
-Stock which may or may not include AI parts and/or the 140 extenders.
-DSL which may or may not include some of the cheat components.
-NAR AI which is pretty much a rebalanced version of DSL with a WYSIWYG mentality.

Hello Guys

I started downloading all Seperate Component, and the Component packs on the gametechmods and bbeans website.
So far i have combined 75% of all component, and detected what components crashes the game or has duplicate files or other bugs/glitches.


Plan is to combine all files like Components, Arenas, Textures, Decals etc. Everything from all Seperate mods and all extracted from AI packs.
 To create the ultimate RA2 fun package.

Downloaded:
 - All Components and all Component packs like DSL, Dark Pack, ][cer, Lu-Tze and many others.
- All Arenas
 - Bigger Max Sphere (Bot Size)
 - Better Bot Draw Texture

Still need to download:
 - AI packs ( To extract more components / arenas / textures etc)
 - Textures, Decals, Custom Edges etc
 - Better default ai?

Workig order:
Checked what is the right to install the files and in what folders and subfolders they belong work.
Took allot of effort because allot of Mods had bad file structure/placement and even typo's in files etc.
And some had updated version files to install on right order or they would crash offcourse.
Then i tried them all seperate to check wich one would crash the game.

Crashing:
 4 Mods found that insta-crash the game, 100% sure of the correct file placement. Could tweak in future.


Future Tweaking:
 Found 3 double images with not the even the glitch of double .txt and .cfz occuring.
 And 1 double file name that need future tweaking

Worklog:
 V0 - Clean RA2 v1.4 installation

v0.1 - 75% of All Seperate Components and Component Packs added. Working together perfectly with no duplicates in component browser. (40+ hours including starting from scratch due too irriversable bug/glitch and not spotting it, then deleting backup and and afterwards seeig it but too late too go back)

Plan for v0.2: add rest of Seperate Componemts and Component Pscks, also Add all Arenas.
