I could probably bash out some replicas if you need help with that, Series 1 robots were fairly simple, for the most part.
If you want, sure.
Also, I still need someone to skin the robots and the custom components.
Could you try it out? I've got bots on the exchange in need of a proper skin.

PM me with the links and I'll see what I can do, bud.  :thumbup
I don't know how to do links though.
Could you, or some one else, help teach me?

Hover over the link, right click, and select 'Copy link address'. Then just paste into a message or post.

I agree with Sonny, at least try and AI the simpler ones, eg Robot the Bruce, just to get a hold of it.
As for custom components, not many people here can create fully new components - the only few who are often doing it and showing it right now are HereticBlue and possibly Wham (ILT gets an honourable mention, they're just not fully new components :P - also 123 would be capable I imagine but not around too much).
Also with speed, don't rush it. The whole thing will come together better if you take time over the replicas, and the replicas will be better themselves. Keep dropping updates every now and again to keep people's interest going and they will continue to help.

This is a list of things I need help with:
.Making custom components
.Making skins
.AIing

.Making a replica of the Robot Wars Series 1 arena
.Making awesome background UI
Those are all good things for you to learn to do, the ones I've bolded are things you can achieve independence on in your timeframe.  Pardon if I sound like Dragons' Den, but you'll get more people on board if you make a detailed list of your contributions and convince them that you're shouldering the bulk of the work.
I was afraid some one would mention that. I'll try to AI some stuff, like the wedge robots.
As for skins, I tried before, trust me, but they were all of centre.
Is there any way around that?
Also, I have issues with BFEing. Making cutoff wedges is something I NEED to know, but there's no tutorial mesh changing.
And lastly, Mazakari, the issue with links is the fact I don't know how to make them. Teach me how and that solves lots of problems.

DP, just learned basic AIing, still needs some one to make custom components.
Going to relearn skinning.
PROGRESS! :gawe:
(on my part)

do you export the bots structure when you`re in botlab so you get the outlines in  a.bmp file in the custom textures folder?

I do, though I think that was just my mistake.
I say that because I just finished Cruella:

Fully AI'd and ready!

I need some one to BFE for me, I've tried to get Grunt's wedge shape done THREE times, yet it STILL refuses to work.
I'll also be finishing team setup soon. ;)
I also need assisstance with skinning wheels, they keep turning invisible.

TP?!!
Here's some robots that need custom components:

Needs a lid.

I just need to learn how to skin wheels, will some one help me?

Needs the tongue and the dome.
Tongue requires connection point to accommodate a flipper

And this one.
Needs the entire shell.
Has to have another connection point at the back to hold the spinning disc

Just some advice, don't get too ahead of yourself if you don't have custom components yet. I can make a few simple adjustments and reskins if you need but nothing you need 3ds max for

Also here's a part of the main menu I'm working on

Is this good for the UI or should I go a different direction with it?
(This isn't the background btw, just the backdrop)

I think you're kinda asking for quite a lot, components from scratch aren't quick things to make. Consider trying alternatives - Leighbot can be flat for example, and Recyclopse, although it wouldn't look amazing, could have the dome made in the chassis builder.
As for skinning wheels, I think they can be fairly complex? Maybe there is a tutorial somewhere.

Now THAT is perfect!
Also, I JUST remembered that I'm a replica maker, and with the parts and skills i have at the moment, we may not need any custom components AFTER ALL!
None the less, I still need help with BFEing and skinning.

I don't know why i made that last post, I DO need custom components, and BFEing is a high priority, so until then, there's not much else I can do. :frown:

Kinda. Obviously not the exact correct thing but it's there if you need some custom wheels for the mod.

I'll keep looking for a tutorial.

EDIT: Just did a search and came back with nothing however it seems about 4 years ago there was a BOTM with a wheel skin. The creators were Joe and Sage so they obviously know how to do it. Hit up one of them.

Bump?
I'm currently working on the BattleBots 2014 ModPack, so this is currently on hold.
(Not much recent feedback, anyway.)

Another slight bump, but if you need help skinning wheels shoot me a PM. Most of them get corrupted when decompiling, even with Serge's decompiler.
(I really should get round to finishing that wheel tutorial..)

Will you be introducing the gauntlet arena? I'm gonna post something on the series 2 pack as well.

Hang on, is there a series 2 mod thread? Sure there was.

Progress on this modpack has been put on hold.
I'm currently working on the BBAI 2014 Modpack.
I may come back to this eventually. Gauntlet would be pretty cool though.
