The title says it all really.
Jack Daniels has made the following proposal:
I say, release it to the public and future Stock tournaments can be either:
-Stock abiding by the realistic rule (thus negating the need for any hax)
or
-Stock All In-game Glitches Allowed (probably ushering in a new era of leet bots that separate the men from the boys (and women from the girls just to include Scourge))
In the event of Hax Mode being made available to the public, I submit we undergo heavy revisions of the non realistic stock mode.
Please post your proposed revisions for tournaments here. I will make a poll on the 4th of july, 2011.

Neither of those rules above.
I say do what we do for BFE, and have stacking allowed within reasonable limit (this is of course subjective, but I think we can all agree that certain stacks aren't possible. If it is in the grey area, give the person the benefit of the doubt and let him in.

My submission of revision is thus follows:
All batteries, CO2 canisters and Control boards shall be grouped under the the "Power" title.
All motors (spinning, drive and burst) shall be grouped under the "Motor" title.
Motors can only have one stack. This is a stack at 100%. So a two wheeled bot can have two extra motors and wheels, making it a 4 wheeled bot. This is the maximum. Alternatively, a drum weapon or any other can be used.
Batteries can be stacked 3 times. A nifty/nifty/nifty is as valid as a black/CB/Small CO2.
Other baseplate components cannot be stacked into batteries or Motors. They can be stacked indefinately.
Weapons, Motors and extenders outside the chassi can be stacked to whatever degree.

Why this? We never did this for BFE (I believe someone posted a GUIDE for it a little while back). Why not just use common sense as to what could be stacked by hand and what couldn't. I mean if this is the direction we all want stock to move in anyway then that's fine by me, but Hax Mode should not be the thing that "forces" us to do so.

This is nor a debate or an argument. This is a hypothetical submission for a revision of stock in the event of Hax mode being public.
tl;dr GTFO

I think the Stock rules are fine so far, we just need to take a look at Stacking. 'Cause that's really all that Superstacking affects. I think if we suggest that you can't stack different components together, except for the Control Board, Axle Mounts and Baseplate Anchors, which can be stacked either together or into batteries, then that'd be a pretty good place to start.
My rules would be as follows:
Anything from the Motors tab can't be stacked, with the exception of 2 SnapperII's pointing in the same direction, or 2 Low Power Servos.
No more than 3 of the same type of Batteries can be stacked in the same spot.
Baseplate Anchors, Axle Mounts, and the Control Board can be stacked into themselves, each other, or batteries.
Any other forms of stacking is prohibited.
That's the way I'd go about it, personally. Judging by the stacks I've seen so far without the hax mode.

I am saying that this whole thing is unnecessary. I was under the impression that we were going to discuss or "argue" the systems we came up with. If that is not the intent of this thread then I am sorry for my mistake and will refrain from further posts.

will this effect touraments that are being held now?
-
How about we build what we want and have fun with what we want, and decide if something is allowed or banned in the tourney rules? Think about it, it's just a game for building bots........Just let everyone build what they want and only ban specific things in a tourneys rule set..

Anything from the Motors tab can't be stacked, with the exception of 2 SnapperII's pointing in the same direction, or 2 Low Power Servos. It's easy to stack SIIs in different directions or 3-4 in the same direction... even more so with servos. Bad rule.
No more than 3 of the same type of Batteries can be stacked in the same spot. Pinks?
Baseplate Anchors, Axle Mounts, and the Control Board can be stacked into themselves, each other, or batteries. You've never stacked a CB into an HPZ? or a baseplate anchor and SII?
Any other forms of stacking is prohibited.

4 Stacked Pinks vs. a Nifty is a bit of an obvious choice, I'd say, so we can disregard that, but I have never been able to perform any of the other stacks. And this brings me back to my point in the other thread about members' different stacking abilities making this even more difficult to judge, because there will be members who will say "I can't do that, therefore you must be cheating", but the rules about what is and isn't allowed with the Superstacking glitch are gonna have to be very specific if it's going to work. If there's the slightest bit of ambiguity about it, then this debate will just spring up again about what's allowed and what isn't.

We can just ask for video proof of any suspicious stacks.
-
We can just ask for video proof of any suspicious stacks.
And that's extremely inconvenient and a fairly lengthy process.

It's probably the only way to police it at all though really.

Easy solution: Scrap and Sage don't release how to do it to the public. Problem solved.

Seriously.

You still have the axle glitch to address.
I say announce it, get credit for it and then let tournament directors decide what is allowed in their tournaments.
Like 2 blacks and one control board in one spot max, or MOST likely ONE BLACK, and the control board.
It should be up to who ever is doing the tournament....the axle glitch allows AAM like stacking already!

Axle glitch? You mean snapper loading?
-
No, axle.....it allows you to overlap baseplate components.
-
No, axle.....it allows you to overlap baseplate components.
axle loading... it only allows you to overlap things with axles though
-
It STILL needs to be addressed......Barbie used to do stuff I swore was AAM, but she promised it was axle glitch.
ANYWAY....it is there and is not disallowed, so who is to know if it is AAM, or axle glitch!
Venko used to stack so much he got accused of AAM
I AAM when I KNOW it can be done effee glitch (snapper loading), because it saves time.
What I am saying is that now is the time to address all the cheats and deal with them.

Didnt you just answer yourself there?

What about my idea of the different tourneys?
Normal Stock
and
Super Stock
If anyone wants to do a normal stock tournament, they have to sign a little treaty thingy (I need a name for that...) pinned to the top of the signups section. They can't compete without signing it, and if they are caught trying to submit a superstacking bot, they are banned from all stock tournaments for a certain amount of time. My idea was forever but maybe we could do 1 year and then forever or something. Just make the punishment so outrageous that nobody would try it.

Problem is that that will separate users into two halves, and the super stock users probably won't join in normal stock tourneys.

Just either allow it or outlaw it in tourneys and use our minds to decide what is real (like we do with BFE at the moment).
