1. Do servo motors affect input/output rates of batteries, e.g. will I need a Nifty for 4 HP Z-teks but a Supervolt for 4 HP Z-teks and a servo?
2. Is double strength plastic/titanium/steel legal in tournaments/anywhere? (i.e. stealing a stock AI chassis and rebuilding it without changing the chassis)
3. Do burst motors drain more battery power depending on how big their swing arcs are?
4. Do Popups with razors just below the chassis have less launching power/damage potential than those with razors way below the top of the chassis?
Ex. (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/57303screenshot_33.png) as opposed to (https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/58192screenshot_34.png)
I probably have more, but what they are escapes me at the moment.
Edit: 5. How do tournament hosts know if entrants have custom components or not, e.g. if I used iron spikes that were subtly better than usual ones on a bot, maybe 30% times stronger. (HYPOTHETICALLY)
6. Apparently there's a pause button in RA2? Because I have no idea what it is or what it does. (I think it's for the bot lab, rather than in matches)
-
1. no, servos drain no battery power.
2. no, i only think DSA is legal in some cases.
3. not sure.
4. never built a popup.
5. if they import your robot and it crashes the game, it has custom components.
6. it's the ESC key.
someone correct me if i'm wrong on these

1. no, servos drain no battery power.
Yes, I understand a servo works with no batteries, but what really confuses me is when you build a bot with just a control board, a pink batt, and a servo, rotating the servo still depletes the green power bar when you test it...
6. it's the ESC key.
Yeah, that's what I thought at first; I guess it just doesn't do anything for me. (at least when I pressed Esc while spinning a Z-tek in the bot lab, nothing happened)
-
1. Servos dont require Battery power but WILL drain it if you have supplied it..
2. Double Strength Armour's are the norm for any stock competition unless specified otherwise..
3. Nope
4. Wont do much difference. as long as the razors have to impact with the other robot not already against it at the time of firing.
5. components are imported from the respective folder not contained within a bot file so if someones game doesnt contain said cheat parts the robot will crash the game.
6. Esc will pause during matches and some keyboards have a Pause button near the Print Screen one.. which will pause the game at any point.
-
1.Servos don't require power to work, they will work with out any power source.
2.I'm not sure if anyone has tied this.
3.No, they always drain the same amount regardless of arc.
4.The only thing you'll get from an angle like than is a better protected weapon, but another bot has to be higher up on the wedge.
5.The only way to do that is to edit the txt file, and that would only affect you on your side. Creating a new txt file would crash the game on the hosts part.
6.It's the ESC key.

Because you won't use it in battle.

2.I'm not sure if anyone has tied this.
They sure have.. loads of times.. (myself included)
selected AI robots have the old DS Armour values, Forkie also has Double Strength Steel IIRC..

Yup! I have experimented with this quite a bit in the past. The problem lies that the stock bot's chassis are so HUGE and inefficient that it isn't worth making a bot using that original chassis.
I tried a couple of tournaments with Double strength steel re-used stock AI chassis and got my ass handed to me (moreso than usual). Worth the experiment though.

You also used JACKPOT who actually only has DSA :P

Also on Q:5 if your bot has TEXT edited parts then they will not have the cheat attributes on.

Another one...on the Beetle Bros. website it says Snapper II's drain -400 and Snapper 2's drain -300...IIRC the II is the blue one and the 2 is the green one? Is it just that way, did Clickbeetle mix it up, are II's stronger than 2's, or what?
-
II's are hidden components, and aren't very strong at all. They're good for mounting motors and making 36 HS though.

Which answer my question how...?
-
No. The programmers never got around to actually use the Snapper II in the game (not even in the AI). Using it as an actual burst motor is just terribly ineffective since you can't even have it retract its arm. Like madman said, it's just good for bursting multiple components.

Maybe this should be in Technical Support but I'm too lazy to make a new topic.
Whenever I try to import certain bots the game crashes. For example, Trigger can't be imported, but Neglected Waterbug can. (both in the same spot in the same team) Wat do?

Last time I ran into a problem like that it turned out I didn't have the correct smartzone pack installed. So it was borking out because my RA2 didn't have the correct components.

Much appreciated, I was wondering as well. Thanks, Jack
