Title: Rammer building
Post by: Shield on August 23, 2014, 11:08:46 PM: Would it be advisable to concentrate weapons on just one spot or just have a wall of em?

I feel like I have seen that response before... Anyways, I personally prefer a wall/rack of weapons since they protect against horizontal spinners, whereas a single, concentrated blob of weapons cannot effectively block an attack from an HS. Also, most modern rammers you see have a wall/rack of weapons as opposed to a concentrated blob (see: Battle Tortoise from Around the World 2).

Rammers that concentrate need to kill quickly or have decent HS protection not to die instantly.

Wall-of-weapons rammers are built for attrition wars, or as a standard rammer design. Concentrated rammers are built for huge hits and going through HS's defenses (more prevalent in stock where you have several spinners on your bot)

You also have V-rack rammers which are built for pinning stuff.

I find concentrated rammers to be more difficult to build and to make effective since you need side armor and you are far more easily knocked to te side.

That entirely depends of the design and weightclass. Just build.
