RA2GE: Legends Unleashed -- Character Discussion Thread

It is very easy. Go to your Arena's folder. Go into the folder of the arena that you want to change (box for example for the combat arena), open the Preview image into a image editing program (I use Paint.net, but for less advanced users, use MS paint.), edit the image and save, the same thing applies to the images within the maps folder. I don't know if ms paint handles .tga files, but I know that Paint.net does. It is just another image name like .bmp, png, and gif, except it is integrated onto a 3d model as a skin. Simply edit it as you wish and save.

My advice is to stick with the original layout of the map images. They are arranged in a way that would wrap around the 3d object cleanly. If you are going with a completely different look, remember the orientation of those different "parts" of the image.

Character: Half-dragon wizard/warrior, but nobody knows it because he never showed his powers or combat skills.
Uses them and his mechanical skills to build bots, but is very secretive about it.
Basically, his bots are magic creations powered by runes, but still do look like normal bots excepted for the glowing scriptures on it that everyone not skilled at magic thinks it's fancy and useless lamps.

Comes from: Nobody knows and he doesn't wants to speak about it.

Age: A little less than 200 years, but doesn't looks that old.

Skills: Besides his hidden powers, he has learned mechanics, and has a good sense of metalworking and metallurgy. Skilled on explosives, too.

Bot building:
Very enthusiastic in entering battle. Loves to see robotic destruction, but won't destroy an immobilized opponent. In the pits, repairs frenetically. Very talkative ("Yeeeah, I got him!") during the fight - if he loses, he's generally angry for a while. Drives and fights sometimes cleverly, sometimes brutally (especially if he loses his temper), that means that his bots are often significantly damaged as a result. VS and rammer specialist.

Social: (cons) Can be a real annoyance. Sarcastic. Cynic. Hasn't many friends. Generally reluctant on first contact with someone. Sometimes harsh in relationships.

(pros) Never gives up. Isn't really mean. A great friend, if you can manage to be his friend. Not a liar or deceiver, sometimes helps newbies, and will leave you in peace if you leave him in peace, unless when fighting.

Appearance: Human-like, but his skin is unusually red and scaly and he has several reptilian features like catlike eyes. Wears a long grey robe. Looks pretty strong. 1,80m for 100 kg.

Name: Urjak

Character: Mutated Spider. Used to be a regular spider until it accidently fell into some nuclear waste. Gained super intelligence, great increase in size. Likes to now build robots with icreased intelligence.

Origions: No one knows, he doen't even know his own origins.

Age: 2 years old

Building Style and skills: With 6 extra limbs, builds very fast, likes Horizontal Spinners, average bot builder.

Size: 6 feet in Diamiter (spelled wrong)

Sociality: Likes being by his self, no one has ever seen him in person, as he controls his bots from dark corners where he cant be seen. He is considered a bad guy by most people, because he steals all the parts for his robots.

Very nice ideas everyone!, I just need three more people to register for the poll.

The spider and dragon/human will be especially fun to draw... Not that everyone's wont.

@ System32: no but you can only change your team ONCE by the end of sept. (I will put this up on the first page of the other thread as well). I also recommend it because i think i can't find your bots download.

I added to everyones 1st page status, on the other thread, the number of Team changes you have left (which should be only 1)... You CANNOT change an arena after you submit, so be careful as to what you make!

To be honest II, I do agree with you. But since I am doing a totally unique pack, I decided to let everyone make their characters anything they want (to some extent). I mean, what are the odds that you will fight against a giant mutant spider in Robot Arena 2?

Update (finally): I will post pics of all of your characters either this week or the next. These pics are just SKETCHES and will be subject to change upon request. I am also adding yet another new option to the roster of characters: Voice type. Though there won't be much words for them to say. They will most likely be the voice of their own arena (replacing the announcer). this is so the character can give a little dialouge on his arena and i will do the audio for them (unless one wants to to the voice of his own character). this new feature will add even more flavor to my storyboard

Things you may request a change along these catagories:

-color of character/components
-gender
-hair style
-voice type
-depth (muscle? - slim? - obese?)
-clothing style and assesories


these catagories are FINAL and cannot be requested to be changed

-height (once you state your height, its final)
-personality/attitude
-bio (if i already received it, it will take too long to change!)
-morals
-values

also note that your character MUST have a weakness of some sort... I hate characters that can do anything. In reality, they are only botters. Just emphasizing this because i received a character with such attributes and I dont want the mod to become "distasteful".

I will review Naryar as a no-fantasy character. But still half-dragon. Because the wizard would be difficult... to role-play.

Just so you know, my character's weakness is his lack of using wedges, which he considers an "unhonorable" tactic.

My weaknesses are... I dunno man, whatever you see fit. I'm not going to claim myself to be invincible because I know better, I'm very far from it.

Muscle. Innate, that said, dragon bloodline is muscular.

-clothing style and accessories
Wears heavy-fabric dark grey trousers, and these go up the waist and finish at the solar plexus level.
Wears a blood-red leather apron.
Most common headgear is his liked welder's mask.

Has a good bunch of accessories. Metalworking tools (hammer, pincers, hand drills, metal saw), a blowtorch, and several dangerous chemicals such as gunpowder (it can burn too) or even thermite.,
