Title: RA2 VIRUS URGENT!
Post by: COOL MAN on April 18, 2005, 01:13:14 AM: Watch out for a Virus, I wish I could give more info but this is all I know, I know it is true becuase i got it.

Effects: RA2 Game (The Updated Version)(1.2)

Damage: High

Problems:
*Destroys arena files, so when you go into a battle, the game goes black
*Multiplayer Is not functional
*Workshop files damaged, only certain ones work, not including the control board
*destroys you robots, and ones exported in the robot design folder, but if they are moved somewhere else they are fine

Spread:
*A MULTIPLAYER GAME

This is my theroy on how it is so easy to catch.....

The guy who created it planted it on a componet, which is already in the game so when the robot data is loaded so is the virused component, the component effects one of you components that is most likely on your bot, it will take its most damaging effects when the game is closed out and restarted.

If you find a server with a odd name and you join it, and the robot your facing has an odd name, exit out immedatly from that server.

it messed up my game a few months ago and corrupted EVERY SINGLE BOT FILE i had. wich pissed me of.

I wonder if i could be (which I don't know for sure) if you just downloaded a part that is either messed up or is missing something important and got it to work once then saved your robot. Then either changed the text file or all the sudden a different computer virus got in a messed it up. Then when you loaded your robot, it could have not loaded because of the haywire component lol. Could that possibly be an explanation?
