Hey, guys I'm kinda new to the whole RA2 Forum, but I'm not new to forums and definitely not new to RA2. But anyway I'm trying to figure out how all this works, with the tournaments and such. I have, in my opinion, a pretty formidable robot design, well at least against the default bots. I want to know what it will do when put against another player's bot. ASAP preferably. Its a fairly simple design, but it seems to work. So any takers?

Oh and if someone could please explain to me if I'm going about this all wrong, and I'm sorry if I am.

Try some AI packs. Those have bots from the best builders around.

And judging from your avatar, I would suggest getting Starcore v2.0. :D
Clash Cubes 1 - Grey Matter (Runner-Up)
King of Karnage - Sideshow Freak (Runner-Up, Best Engineered)
Rust In Pieces - Paper Cut 3 (Grand Champion, Most Dangerous Bot)
Wheely Tag Tournament - Ion Thruster (Grand Champion, along with Ounces' DiSemboweLment)
UK vs USA - Dark Striker (Grand Champion)
Rust In Pieces 2 - Claymore (Runner-Up, Favourite Bot)
BBEANS 6 - Infection 4 (Runner-Up)
RA2 Team Championships - Serious Business, Skeksis (Runner-Up, along with Scrappy, S_M, and Badnik)
RA2 Team Championships 2 - The Other Stig (Runner-Up, along with Scrappy, S_M, Badnik, 090901, and R1885)
Replica Wars 3 - Abaddon (Runner-Up, Luckiest Bot)
BroBots - wheebot & yaybot (Runner-Up)
Robo Zone 2 - Dipper (4th place, Survival Champion, & Best Axle Bot)
ARBBC - The Covenant (3rd place, BW Rumble Winner, Most Feared BW)

If that requires downloading, I'm pretty well screwed right now. I'm trying to download a patch and it's taking forever itself.

Well, you're more screwed if you want an online battle. Don't worry. The wait is worth it. If you're able to beat the bots from Starcore v2, then you can try Starcore v3.

I've battled online a bit, generally the lag makes it pretty hard. But satellite internet will solve that problem :)

welcome to GTM, a good way to learn is to start a showcase, some of the best RA2 builders around are on here will gladly give you pointers.as for comparing bots against others, look up in the tournaments section find one that you think you can join and enter it, most are done by ai so you only need to watch the results (didn't naryar do duels or something like that???)

And by that Somebody means make a showcase in the showcases section. Also, look around other people's showcases such as Clickbeetle's, Infiniteinertia's, Sage's, etc. to get a better idea of how to build.

For once the mods did something right
