Need some advice on a weapon for my new VS.
« on: July 20, 2015, 10:35:03 PM »
After finally coming up with an ideal wedge and drive, my new issue is weaponry.

I'm currently working on a 4WD VS to replace Steel of San Antonio, and have tried many setups, starting with MOE blade, then to 20x120 DSL blade with Large Beater Bars on the end. Now trying Blades, but nothing is working for the real KO power I need.

I'm open to ideas, but have found a liking to those Hammer like weapons on Sir Benevolent from Live Designs. But when I look for said weapon I cannot find it. So now I'm looking for suggestions on how to make the best effective weapon.

Thank you in advance.

I would suggest trying the Frenzy hammers if you can fit them on. I have had a fair bit of success using them in a horizontal spinner before. Or just trying the different type of hammer heads that are avalible. Unfortunatly all of the teeth I have tried always break off too easily, so I would not bother trying those.
You search and search for something, never realizing it is within and always has been.
You can not find it, you can not understand it, you simply accept, and believe, and it will grow.

I've never considered FrenZy hammers before, prob won't fit but sounds like a fun idea for a future bot.

Thanks!

beater bars, razors, hypno teeth, sledgehammers (not the 25kg ones), small or large DS teeth... can't think of anything else that is good as VS weapons

the choice between lots of light weapons and a few heavy weapons is also important on a VS. the former makes you not wobble a lot when you lose some, but it makes you wobble early, and the latter is exactly the opposite. heavy wobbling but later on the match.

wobbling means your wedge is useless. worse it turns into a liability. if you don't have one it's less important but heavy wobbling can seriously weaken the bot's control, unlike light wobbling.

All my Crasp Drones just use DSL discs with large beaters, and they might not have a lot of HP but 2 on each disc as I do means the low weight gets a lot of speed up, throwing things around nicely. You can always pop light DS teeth onto the end of the beaters if you want more damage potential.
