After recently hearing from Clickbeetle about the new DSL_TC 3.0 Pack coming soon, I immediately had some ideas for new teams, replicas and arenas that could be used for the pack. If you want to see them (And maybe post a few ideas of your own), you've come to the right place-
Team and Replica Ideas...
Ice Cubed Robotics (Originally removed in DSL 2.1)
"Cutting opponents into small, cold cubes for our drinks"
* Gamma Raptor (LW)
* Cassius 2 (HW)
* El Diablo Grande (HW)
* Mortis (HW)
* Terrorhurtz (HW)
* Marauder (SHW)
Stark Industries
[Insert motto here*]
* Hazard (MW)
* Disc-O-Inferno (HW)
* Warhead (HW)
* Mauler 51-50 (HW)
* Ziggy (SHW)
* Atomic Wedgie (SHW)
House Robots (All in one place!)
[Insert motto here*]
* Dead Metal (SHW)
* Sgt. Bash (SHW)
* Sir Killalot (SHW)
* Matilda (SHW)
* Shunt (SHW)
* Mr. Psycho (SHW)
Military Unit 666
[Insert motto here*]
* Toe Crusher (LW)
* Stinger (HW)
* Panzer Mk. 4 (HW)
*
* Toro (SHW)
* Shrederator Supreme (SHW)
And now, Arena Ideas-
* Robotica "Fight to the Finish Arena*
This one's obviously going to be a tabletop.
"It's a platform high above some SPIKES! The Robots fight it out for one minute, and when it's up, the Safety cage DROPS, and it's an all out warto be the only one left on the Platform! It's so brutal it can only be called...The fight to the finish!"
Ahmet Zappa from Robotica
* Robot Wars Series 3 Arena
One of the more well-known Robot Wars Arenas, this one basically has the original hazards, including-
- The Pit of Oblivion (Unlike the Original RA2 RW Arena, It remains open throughout the fight, and is a bit smaller a bit shallower, so a defeated robot of average size could be seen poking out of the top)
- The Floor Flipper (More disguised into the floor, and less powerful than the current RA2 RW Arena, so it has just the right power to toss a heavyweight end-over-end across the arena, but not so powerful it ends up flying out)
- Flame Grille (No changes here-Leave an opponent on here, and watch them BUUURN!)
- Floor spikes (Known for causing some major upsets throughout the series, with Behemoth vs. Pitbull being a good example, these spikes are placed on their own throughout the arena, with one bunch of five appearing near the top left-hand CPZ)
- Wall Grinders (Less powerful and more balanced than the ones found in the RA2 Tournament Arena, these more camoflauged blades are still surprisingly powerful, capable of slicing right into any robot's armour)
* Scrapyard
This abandoned scrapyard makes a great place for a battle, but beware, it's become the final resting place of many hapless robots. Hazards include-
- Conveyor Belt leading to a pit mounted with a Car Crusher. This diabolically destructive hazard moves slowly towards a robot, before crushes a robot, quickly destroying it and breaking off any attachments touching it before dropping the remains into a pit which opens up beneath it)
- An area directly underneath a high magnetic crane. It slowly pulls robots up towards it. When it touches the crane itself, it slightly damages the robot and deactivates for ten seconds, causing the robot to take a bit of a tumble = D )
* A Foundry
A conversion of the Foundy Arena from "Robot Wars: Arenas of Destruction", there are just so many opportunities to destroy your opponent here, it's unreal! Hazards include-
- A tank of Molten Steel accessed from the upper gantry. Fall in there, and it instantly destroys and eliminates the robot, stripping it of any attachments on it. Disqualification... by melting! What a way to go = P
- The Lower gantry features a hopper for the sheets of metal to fall into once they're made. The steel sheets don't appear, but the huge pit remains. Fall in there, and you're out of the running!
- Huge grilles in the wall shoot out huge columns of flame from them, almost certainly toasting a robot if they stay there too long. *Pops up in corner of screen* "TOASTY!"
* Could you come up with some ideas for this motto? Thanks.

i would help if i had 3d max 3.5
-
Besides, most of the bots there can be found in the AU pack.
-
go away
-
the scrap yard idea sounds very much like extreme destruction and arenas of destruction.... but seriously there is already going to be heaps in DSL 3 so there is no real need for more, that's not to say you cant get together with some other people and make your own RA2 Mod or AI pack :-D

Yeah, it sounds like a carbon copy. Ironic also, because I had the scrapyard/junkyard arena idea based off the same arena, but it didn't go as far as to including the (useless?) magnet crate.
-
id like a team toro cause they have 5 bots
matador
t minus
toro
butcher
and rhino
-
Toro already exists.
-
not in dsl and aceuplink doesnt exist anymore
-
...it is in the AU BB AI pack.
-
well i was just saying since there is no aceuplink why cant toro be in dsl 3.0 and i always wanted to see the air powered blade of butcher
-
On the topic of Butcher, after the first version they switched to Etek(iirc) power because the pneumatic system wasn't working well enough.

but it was still different and that is why i like butcher
-
I like the Idea of the Robot Wars Series 3 Arena. I suggested the same in another thread with another nickname a year ago. (i think both doesn`t exist anymore)
Edit:
I found my post:

What about Starcore and Darkrat? I know Lu-Tze is dead, but are they helping too?
-
Starcore: IDK. He's busy with SC4 anyway. Darkrat hasn't been around in forever.
-
Natef, do you think you could have not worded your post a little better? :smiley:
but I am fairly sure others a working with click on DSL 3, Mad and Trov were working on the changeable test garage thing ? and I would count on FB helping out,
like someone said before (cant remember who) why doesn't click add his name to the title ? DSLC 3 ?

I got an idea of a flippermotor that is activated when you push the button the first time. the flipper will rise up and stays there until you press the button again. then the flipperreturns to it`s startposition.
i don`t know if this is possible but would be funny i think.
-
You might be able to do this with a geared Beta.
Now the problem is that it's 180 degrees, maybe a little too much.
-
yeah, that`s the point. And the Beta goes down again if you stop press the "fire" button. The motor I had in mind then should work a bit like a servo.
-
I agree a motor like the beta burst only a smaller arc would be cool, prevent those times when a robot is underneath and your flipper retracts pushing down on the other robot flipping you over
-
And the Beta goes down again if you stop press the "fire" button.
That's not an issue if you use either a single analog control for AI-ing, either two switches for human driving.
-
Hm ok. But there`s still the 180° thing. But it`s possible to do?
-
some short of leg, broken wheel or other
or a double sided chainsaw that can be used as treads
