Title: Looking for Srimech Advice
Post by: HurricaneAndrew on July 03, 2009, 03:14:55 AM
Can anyone tell me how to make a srimech work on a DSL SHW?

I'm pretty sure my crappy srimech on Surprise! is the main reason I'm already out of CC2.

I have tried the all the burst motors, but none of the will right the bot.

Any advice?

Edit: Will using more than one burst on the same switch help with the effectiveness of a srimech?

Look, basically ur burst motor wasnt strong enough. From what I see, ur using a Large JX burst motor, which probably wont lift 1000kg+. Either use 2 large burst motor, on the same switch, Or get a beta bust motor, which is probably overkill.

I just tried using 2 mag snappers, that didn't work...

I don't know if I could cut enough weight to get 2 JXs on it.

And I am also trying to rig it up as a flipper.

Edit: It would also be terribly underpowered. The chassis is already full of Battlepacks, but they have to run 2 Perms and 2 E-teks, as well.

for a robot is a drum the size it is Invertible would be your best bet, I know its stock but look up Drumble Bee in the RA2 wiki for an idea

My srimech is using the drum to run up a wall and flip it over.

Just said it because a srimech doesn't have to be a burst motor.

Make sure the the sri-mech arm is short. I don't know if this is still true, but in the old days that helped a lot.

For anyone who cares, the rebuilt Surprise! is posted in my DSL showcase.

Check it out, I think you guys will like the changes.
