You are playing against a replica in DSL--replica, of course, refers to a real-life combat robot, usually from Robot Wars or Battlebots, remade in RA2 or one of its mods. In the game, these particular robots are often built using unusually strong parts that are normally inaccessible to the player. For example, the Judge Burst Motor, weighing about 25kg and demanding little electrical power, is about as powerful as a Spring-Loaded Beta Burst, which weighs 80kg and needs about 200 amps for more than one good flip. I have never examined the Thermidor replica itself, but I suspect it uses one of these very powerful motors, allowing it to flip bots more easily.
Another factor in this is the weight of the bot you are using. For as bad as the RA2 physics engine is, it still gets one thing right: that lighter objects are moved more easily than heavier ones. If you are fighting the replica with a lightweight, then it will surely get flipped multiple times. Even a heavyweight could get launched quite far due to the usage of strong motors.
I recommend that you make a showcase. The idea of a showcase is that a person displays pictures of their bots, the more experienced community members provide constructive criticism, and then the bot has improvements made to it. A thread like this is honestly not the best starting place for a new member like you. Perhaps by seeing your bots, we can give a more accurate answer to your question.
