Competing online isn't really that stable anymore. The actual system used for online (Gamespy) doesn't support RA2 anymore, so now we use the LAN feature and Hamachi. The problem with that though is that there is severe packet loss.
Short answer - nobody will notice.
-
is the packet loss from competing in the same country? cause if that is the case then there isnt a chance in heck I will have a decent connection..
-
pretty much anywhere Im afraid, I have had heaps of packet drops fighting a person in my own country, the best thing is to compete in the AI tournaments regularly hosted on this site
-
explain AI tournaments....?
-
a Good boy holds the tournament on its computer. call him the 'organizer'
he defines the rules of the tournament (realistic or not, stock or DSL, weight, etc).
each competitor send its bots.
the organizer makes AI to the received bot so they can fight without a human driving them (much as those you meet when you play events on RA2).
the organizer publishes the result.
Most famous tournament is Bbean :

but some other tournaments keep growing (Clash Cube, RAW, etc). see on this forum, there is the list of current tournament, those who will come soon.
ACAMS also holds other kind of contest : show contest with BOTM (bot of the month).

cool thanks

Hmm, I guess you are planning to play people in your own country online?
-
my uncle is from south Africa... but he dosnt have ra2.

The only place to get the game is to import it from the states...How many people in my country do u think is gna go thru all that effort lol
