If there has been a thread similar to this, please merge it with the original. Thanks.
Now, components are absolutely essential in RA2, (I mean without them, how would you make your bot?) But admit it, some components have their shortcomings when in combat. In fact, some are actually pretty useless in because they certain weaknesses that overcome their strengths.
With this in mind, I ponder this: How would one make a component to where it has a heavy usage? So, if you were to improve any component, whether in Stock or DSL, whether useful or useless, I'm curious to know your ideas.

Since I build pretty much exclusively IRL now I'd want to improve the components I just don't like the look of. Mostly the wheels in DSL, I don't like how a lot of them look. Also fixing the replica components so that they can actually be used on other robots would be my next idea, some of them have really horrible attachment points, collisions etc.

wheels can be skinned quite easily. I think RedAce talks about stuff like the angeld connectors and flippermakers
-
I think really he was talking about weapons, but still, that's what I would do to make components more usable.
-
If it helps, I'm working on making all Ironforge components separate so they can be used in other mods and not screw everything up. However, I'll need to go back to working on it again.
On this note, I reckon EMERGENCY should be a component just like SFTW was.

SFTW is a component? In what?

Kinda, but maybe I was a bit too vague. I'm really trying to say how to improve an already existing component so it feels better using it because it makes building so mush easier, or significantly improves the component overall, along with balancing it to not make it broken.
For example: A common thing stock builders like doing is to stack SuperVolt batteries since it not only saves space in your chassis, but it provides your bot a good amount of juice to fight. One problem to this is that it takes up a lot of time to actually get the stack, especially if you don't have much experience doing it nor enough space for leeway.

Enter the BBEANS Stacked SuperVolt, this fixes the issue of time management as they are "pre-stacked" since they provide double the power of a normal SuperVolt battery and twice the weight in one component. This is almost to where does and doesn't make a difference since it's useful and balanced.
This should be a little more specific explanation. Hopefully.

In the bbeans pack. You have to unhide it though (on the txt)
You can download it from the bbeans website.

I think matches would be more exciting for longer if batteries had an infinite/very high amount of electotal and were only balanced around size + weight + elecmaxinoutrate. Sometimes robots start slowing down to a crawl turning the fight into a boring pushfest.
On this note, I reckon EMERGENCY should be a component just like SFTW was.
EMERGENCY has both burst motors and spinning parts, so no.

There is stfw as a component

this is making me think of a rebalanced stock pack.
Maybe them batteries need to have very high electotal. At least the small one; the supervolt i'm not so sure, because it will mean people will use less supervolts in total.
