one thing that i hate in RA2 and would like to see in the next DSL patch is:

THE ACCNOUNCER'S VOICE IS GAY!!
HE MAKES ALL THESE BAD JOKES TOO, IN THE ELECTRIC ARENA

i like the voice in the beggining when it says," DSL TOTAL CONVERSION" use that voice it is WAYYYY.... BETTER THAN the orriginal anouncer...

can u also change the bad jokes he makes to good ones?

Well that would be easy. All you would have to do is replace the sound effects for the announcer. I was looking at this a few days ago and there are a lot of used sounds in the game. I guess they were planning on have the game have a commentry and it was scraped. If anyone wants to do the voice acting it would be easy.

Edit: I just looked and thats nearly 140 anouncer recordings. You can take about 20 or more off but thats still a lot.

true, but think about all the OTHER things the DSL team has done.

im sure making an arena and hazards is a

of alot harder than making 100 recordings.

think about the backround of DSL, either they got it off the internet or they spen a crap of alot of time to do all that stuff :-P

and it shoodnt be hard to think of new jokes to replace those old lousy ones...

Well spoken I know the DSL team that has already accomplished some very impressive things in relation to this game can easily replace the crappy announcer we're all tormented by in the current game. The developers could have at least budgeted some money to hire a decent voice actor, where did they find this guy. :shock:

and for the 3-2-1 count down it can iether go 3-2-1-activate! or maybe, THE BOX IS LOCKED, THE LIGHTS ARE ON, ITS ROBOT FIGHT'N TIME

"3, 2, 1, activate" was in robot wars.

"The box is locked, the lights are on, it's robot fighting time" was in Battlebots. Therefor it would seem very out of place in the robot wars arena.

You can make some sounds arena spific. To be honest the 3 2 1 and the box is locked isnt like they couldnt be used for each other. Its not like saying WELCOME TO THE ROBOT WARS!!! in the battle bot arena.

OK, anyone who wants to make 100 new announcer comments, go ahead. The current announcer is better than anything I or FB could come up with. FB could make some crazy, silly comments (random stuff like opera singing and Gollum imitations), but nothing serious I don't think.

I have a mic but I donno if my voice would work that great. Write a few intros and Ill "try out" We should write a lines for the try outs that are very diffrent to see who has better ranges.

It Was talked about when we were creating DSL-TC 1.0. But like CB said, it would take a loong time.

not to mention the fact that the filesize of the mod would double.

If you have problems get a bigger HD or a second cheap second one. Right now its only half a gig and if you replace the existing ones it wouldnt change it all that much.

lol. I have 1.2 terabytes of HD space. The Issue is not HD space, its dialup download time( we care about you guys too :wink: )

The original sounds that came with the game are not include in the DSL package, because you already have them.

Wow you killed me on both points and were on earth did you get 1.2 TB I have 250 GB and people freak. I was planning on upgrading soon but my the recent anime convention drained my funds.
