You can play online totally fine if you have Hamachi, I do it with Noodle all the time.

Ok heres a rundown of what you should do.
1.Make a showcase.
2.Wait for a tournament, and enter.
3.Enter challenges to test the water.I would challenge you but I rarely play RA2 anymore.
4.Try out DSL
