Author Topic: I cant play in multiplayer ! plzz help (Read 9528 times)

guys when i start a game with my friend, we cant play becouse,he got a crash,error "this program will be closed-sorry" but if we playing with standart robots - ITS OK!!!!!!!!

both of as have absolutely identical versions of RA!

what we have:
1. RA client 109mb version(identical for both)
2. patch 1.2
3. DSL-TC 2.0 CD

its what we have...

only one game with custom components what we played ,was OK
(i just used a standart robot,and he used his robot (maded with DSL TC) )

plz help,we really cant play in multiplayer with DSL TC
i dont know maybe someone have similar problem? what should i do?

so i would imagine its a different problem

did your friend do that allownonstandardmultiplayer thing? that may be your problem

and what did you say to me in weird language in that other discussion?

you dont understand!
its ok with AllowNonStandardMultiplayer from 0 to 1 ! we can start the game!

but after "loading robot data" my friend got PROGRAM CRASH (and sometimes me too!)

but if we plaing with robots from "clasicRA2" ( -without mods) ALL IS OK,no crashes

so i asking, what should i do?
i want to play...

And I have already told you that you both have to have exactly the same components installed in your components folder in order to be able to play the game without crashes.

It is possible, but the you have to tell the game to allow the custom components, and then because RA2's multiplayer SUCKS, it may or may not work.

I think he means it sucks like it doesn't want to work and has tons of problems.

Like Darkur said, RA2 is about the most unpolished piece of CRAP that I have seen. But, it is still fun because, well, it is. Don't quit because the multiplayer doesn't work. Sometimes you have to have a $3,000 gaming computer for it to work with minimum lag. We all wish that the game was better finished, but it wasn't. If we get the spurce code from it, we can finish the game and release RA3.

The RA2 developers spent most of their time programming a good bot lab. They quickly put everything else together and left many unfinished holes.

The hovercraft requires a large amount of data to be transfered from your computer to your friends. Thats why it was disabled. Don't use it for online play.

To be honest unless you described the bots in detail or uploaded them somewhere it is hard to give you any help. I have successfully played DSL on line many times.

Yes you can play online with the flamethrower. You can play with anything as long as your opponents have it too.

Try fighting with different bots. You said you used a stock bot against a DSL bot - try DSL on DSL, with simple basic designs not using a lot of parts.
