How does "air" consumption work?
« on: August 15, 2011, 11:14:31 AM »
I'm working on a bot in stock that uses pistons when I realised, I have no idea how much air is needed to power one piston, or whether a large air tank is worth using in the first place, or even the difference between servo and burst pistons when it comes to their air consumption.

So does anybody know how it actually works?

Pistons eat up air like Gabe Newell eating a 50 big macs *shot*

I was actually wondering too as I used a piston on a recent bot.

The bigger the airtank the more the air total.. I dont believe they output different amounts at one time like Batteries.

Then pistons omnomnom the air upon every fire or movement, I think its constant for each piston (like how Batts take the same regardless of text file stuff) ..

1 airtank to a piston should be more then enough.. if you find your running out before the end of the match with a piston bot, upgrade to larger tanks

Flamethrowers dont apply to this, smallest possible works for Flamethrowers so long as you dont lift your finger off the fire button
