True Pneumatic flippers?
« on: December 09, 2012, 05:09:16 PM »
Well, you see, I had a brainwave today of putting flipper segments on the end of a piston and firing it, trying to make a true pneumatic flipper. It does work exactly how I expected it, except it can't self-right. It does flip robots quite high though, and is in the BotExchange for DSL LWs. Now I'm asking, is there a way to truly master the art of making a CO2 powered weapon that isn't a ram?

Theres Pandemic from DooMsday

Oh boy what a helpful comment, referencing a nonexistent vapor-bot with no design model or specs what so ever.

Now on topic: Nope, pistons can't seem to self-right robots. You'll need a burst motor.

You may want to try a piston on a burst motor... although it may start becoming uncontrollable.

You may also want to read this as well :https://gametechmods.com/RA2wiki/index.php?title=Poker

also, start a showcase, so we can help you better.

The only 2 instances where a piston can self-right a robot is if the piston is too powerful it throws the bot upwards and lands on its wheels due to luck. The other instance is when the piston is located at the far end of the bot and pushes directly against the ground, which should produce around the same torque as a burst motor would.
