Hi all, I just had an idea about forming our own robot fighting association. Could be used as an umbrella organisation for the main tournaments that get run here, people can become members, maybe have something for their sig etc. I think it might put some energy and enthusiasm back into the community here. Or maybe something cool to join.


The idea being people could have to earn the right to be a member, for people who have a genuine passion/obsession with robot fighting. A proper organisation.


Any thoughts?

Right, let's set up even more arbitrary rankings and clubs and titles that don't mean a goddamn thing for everyone to fight about because someone they don't like has it and they don't have it but they want to have it so they should have it

Maybe if the members of GTM started running actual robotic competitions IRL then we might be able to achieve something. But a ranking system and all of that crap just for an obscure bargain bin game would be pointless.

Glad to see its such a popular idea. I've got plenty more bright ideas where that came from but I think I'll keep them to myself. I shall stick to what I know best: Robot building.  :beer:
